Do you receive instruction on what support muscles to strengthen during your dance upbringing? Injuries from the repetitive movement are common, was curious what you are taught as far as injury prevention and self care. I love seeing more of Savannah's playful side. :) Would love to see a video with Michelle about teaching and how she balances work as professional during the day, with teaching and mentoring at night. What she aspires to do for her students as their teacher.

Try putting the sourdough into regular loaf pans, that prevents it from spreading. Just invert an empty loaf pan on top for the first half hour and it will steam itself a bit. Did you score the top of the loaf open before baking? Now I want some sourdough (I bake it, too, but haven’t tried any mix ins yet).

I am a bit confused. I don’t know how companies work, so I’m sorry about this. I thought that Rachel was an apprentice and Savannah and Michelle in the company? So how comes you are all taking class and performing together? Isn’t just the company that is supposed to perform? Or does it depend on the show and the occasion?
@abigailbrannon98908 ай бұрын
Based on my understanding, an apprentice is like a rookie level position in a company. There’s different levels you can reach in a company and an apprentice is like the first level.
@ivyarianrhod8 ай бұрын
As an apprentice, Rachel is part of the company. She might not be cast in a piece, but she needs to learn it in case someone else gets injured. This is basically a trial period, and if they like how she does, she'll be offered a corps position in a year or two. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!)
@quinersisters8 ай бұрын
At ARB, the second company is the lowest position, followed by apprentice and then company member. All 3 levels are professionals, but the pay is different and the roles you are dancing are usually better if you are in the company. Some companies (like ABT or New York City Ballet) have ranks within the company like corps, soloist and principal. All of the company members take class together and rehearse together. :)
@ChronicallyCassidy8 ай бұрын
@@quinersistersthanks for saying this. I know you’ve heard from me multiple times on here and instagram and that I was a former ballet dancer. I know it differs by company but I thought the second company was higher than apprentice in general I wouldn’t have even considered the thought of it being the other way around. When Aran bell was in the 2nd company at abt and they would perform those dancers could be higher level than first company members of another ballet company that is much smaller of course. a few of my friends are/were professional dancers of smaller companies, I know of two of my friends that were in the same company and one was in a lower position than the other, but would be chosen to be on stage and in corps pieces quite a bit, when the other girl who was technically a “level ahead” (as they both explained to me how it worked there) was not put into pieces and didn’t get to perform in corps roles let alone a solo position. My friend who was in the lower position but was in corps pieces moved to boulder ballet. She’s been things like sugar plum, she’s… 24 I believe… we both danced together and at separate yet small ballet schools not anything like JKO. at boulder she said there isn’t like “principal” or “Demi soloist” they just are all in the company and get casted however they are chosen based on how they’re doing etc. but I didn’t know there were companies where you didn’t have a label of being in the corps or soloist etc. a former dancer and teacher from my ballet studio went to dance for ct ballet and she was a corps ballet member. Got to do some small solo roles/ pas de trois in nutcracker here and there but was in the corps. Can be very confusing even as a ballet freak myself lol on how so many companies work! Not everything is like NYCB ABT or Mariinsky

First YAY Rachel!!! Super excited for you, Michelle and Savannah congrats on your raise!! I love to watch all of you girls just grow and learn and love what you do! Michelle, I was watching one of your older videos and you were talking about the “season” I was wondering two things, how long is a Season? Like Sept to June type thing? And what do you do during your off season? Just rest, do you teach, get a temp job? Now that you are a pro do you still do summer intensive’s…? Thanks
@quinersisters8 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes, the season is late August through June. In the summer, professionals teach, choreograph & take classes. It is important to take a little time off. Most pros don’t do summer intensives.🤍

Love you guys so much and y’all bring me so much joy and let me see what company life is like if I ever get that opportunity. ❤️❤️❤️

I have a question. First congratulations Rachel on your amazing accomplishment to being a professional. Second I’m an adult ballet student. Back story I’m 56 and fell and hit my head and have a traumatic brain injury. You all think you have a long commute to NYC. I drive from Niagara Falls to NYC to see a brain specialist at the Weil Cornell Brain and spine center a few times a months. So I have some balance issues due to a cerebral spinal fluid leak I will be having surgery at some point but I’m not really ready for it. So even after 3 months of Ballet it’s gotten better. I’m hooked. If I buy from your Amazon store you ladies get a commission? I found your channel by accident and again I’m hooked! PS continue to read your BIBLES! I would love to come and see you dance while I’m in NYC!
