The Triple Twist is somewhat thrilling although, I feel you get a lot of water in your face in the last funnel, and it is not terribly slow. The slide is 14 years old though, so it is not brand new, the slide may need some work.

Fun Fact: This slide used to be a second Alberta Falls tube slide. In 2010, the slide was taken down and refurbished with 3 funnels and new slide pieces. I think the slide was improved by a lot. A similar story goes for the one in Mason, OH. They used to have 3 Alberta Falls like Poconos. The yellow one was refurbished into this slide while the red and Orange ones remain Alberta Falls. Although Triple Twist isn’t that intense, I do think it’s still a cool and fun slide and definitely the best ride at both of these locations.

This is a very bizarre slide, from my experience. It's also been modified several times. Like another comment mentioned, it started out as a second Alberta Falls tube slide. In 2010 or 2011, I can't remember exactly, it was heavily modified by Proslide to include 3 of their prototype "Topsy-Turvy" funnels, which are now known as TORNADO 18 funnels. While the other Triple Twist that opened alongside this one in Ohio had a pretty smooth opening, this one ended up being pretty problematic. While I didn't personally make it to the opening of the slide, the manager we got to meet while checking in to the hotel roughly a year after the slide opened mentioned that it was only open for a few days before closing for modifications as people were getting injured on the slide. Apparently, riders were entering the funnels with too much speed. That's when the water jets towards the start of the ride were added to increase the water flow rate, which would stop people from swinging too high in the funnels. That wasn't enough, so speed bumps were added along the course. On top of that, the layout of the slide was modified too. Originally, after the first funnel, you'd take a 90 degree left turn and then experience a larger drop into the second funnel. This was replaced by that helix to make the drop into the second funnel much shallower and slower. Then after a few years, funnels one and two were modified. They were originally perfectly circular, however they were changed into the egg-like shape we see now. After that change, they removed the speed bumps since they were causing the rafts to wear down very quickly, but kept the increased water flow. Finally it seems that they changed the third funnel into an egg shape at some point between my last visit and whenever this was filmed. So, it's been through a lot lol. We had an ongoing joke with my family every time we visited to see who could be the first to spot any new changes to the ride haha.

That‘s very interesting to know, thanks for this background story 😊 Didn‘t know they had the circular funnels initially!

On behalf of the city of Kansas City, I apologize that you had to experience our “Not-So Great Wolf Lodge”

It actually is the worst location of the chain so far :D

But Sandusky is a cool looking water park :(
@tuberides.officialАй бұрын
@@kmvstudios9072 Yes. At least Sandusky doesn't have those conveyor belts which slow down operations, resulting in long waits. The rides are slightly better at GWL Kansas City though

In my opinion, Traverse City is the worst location of the chain because it’s really just this location but even more basic. This location features 1 Alberta Falls and the Triple Twist. Traverse City has 2 Alberta Falls which are both kind of boring with 1 of them having a short open part. The Alberta Falls at this location has a better open part due to it being longer. This location features a slide only found here, the Howling Wolf. Traverse City has River Canyon Run instead which is not as intense.
