I had the 250 rally went to KTM 390 adventure now on an Africa Twin Adventure Sport DCT about to sell it and go back to the 300 Rally. The Rally is just a good fun Bike. I live also Cebu and do a good bit of touring around. Casa Blanca in Dumaguete is my lunch spot good burger. I’ll be interested in some of your rides and see some routes you take. Thanks for the video about the 300 L and the Rally good insight
@Tripleb603610 ай бұрын
Hi, that’s interesting as I had an Africa Twin base model and sold it last year then picked up the Rally. Honestly, for here, I prefer the Rally. Its light weight means I’m always hopping on it whereas the Africa Twin only came out for ‘proper rides’. I also ignored the electronics on the Twin as I couldn’t be bothered to go through that huge console of controls to change stuff. I also take the Rally where I wouldn’t take the Africa Twin. I used to live in Dumaguete and eat at Casablanca regularly. Still go back sometimes.

@@Tripleb6036 we will have to hook up and ride. Especially when I go back to the rally. Love the Twin but it’s like you said for the daily fun rides or quick trips it is over kill. I’m in Argao. But i ride all over the island. Noting hardcore just dirt roads and street I’ll leave the complicated stuff to the experts. I’ll list my 2019’Twin DCT for about 800k and if it sells ok if not she can be kept in the man cave lol.

yeh that would be good. Sounds like you ride the same stuff as me. Roads, dirt roads but no hardcore off-roading. I’m trying to plan and find time to get over to Canlaon and that area on the Rally as the roads there are pretty decent. Haha, I have too many bikes in my garage. My Africa twin sold pretty quickly and I got over 800k for it. It had low miles and was a 2021 base model. I found fb groups, Cebu big bike mercado and Big bike Philippines were decent for getting interest .

I think the 250 Rally suspension is better, had it 5 years now and ride it with a pillion too, absolutely no issues in 50.000 km of touring, but thanks for the update, i wanted to get the 300 too, but will hold on to mine, big thumbs up from Thailand👍

I’m not sure as I only ever rode the CRF250L , not the 250 Rally. I could make do with 300 Rally’s suspension but as soon as you push it a bit faster it shows its softness. I’d love to ride in Thailand. I bet they were some fun 50k km.

(posting this comment before actually finishing the vid) I got my rally last Feb 16'24, one thing I noticed for the 2023 model that the throttle wasnt jerky anymore, I did rode the 1st gens of the 300 (2020/2021) wc was my buddy's bike it has a very jerky throttle. As for the suspension, it still the same light spring rate, can't blame Honda if the concern was keeping the bike at a reasonable price.
@Tripleb603610 ай бұрын
I agree. I think I mentioned it in one of my videos. The newer models are definitely smoother, I didn’t notice on the throttle so much as the engine. The Rally also sounds slightly better too compared to my 2021 CRF 300L.

@@Jayz-c2zYou're weight is high for offroad with bags, supplies on stock shock. For road, even offroad just you, it's ok.
@BruceHoult10 ай бұрын
I can't believe how much time you spent talking about the shock! The stock spring is too weak for us tall and heavy westerners, and if you buy one of these bikes budget to replace it. Simple. End of discussion. I've had a 250 Rally for four years next month. There's a place here in New Zealand that just upgrades the stock shock with a spring custom made for your (plus passenger / baggage if desired) weight, puts a 2nd spring in the forks, and upgrades the valving all around. I'm a big bastard so I put a 130 kg spring on mine. Now the bike is perfect. It's night and day. Total cost for both ends was US$900. As I only paid US$4200 for the bike brand new (2019 old stock bike in 2020), it's still a cheap bike. My other bike is a BMW 1100RT, but I use the Rally far more -- if I'm going less than 100km on tarseal then I use the Rally unless I need to carry a lot of shopping. Or, obviously, any distance if there is gravel or dirt or sand involved.
@Tripleb603610 ай бұрын
I have budgeted to replace it. As I think I said in the video, I got the bike cheap here which allows me to replace the shock and maybe the forks. $900 is pretty cheap compared to the prices I’m seeing. Anyway, I love the bike. Just needs a bit of work and it will last me for years hopefully. Glad you’re enjoying yours.
