when the MV came out, i stumbled upon a twitter thread of someone doing an explanation of the MV. about a group of girls wanting to free themselves from the society's expectation, mental pressure, shut ins, depression, and suicide. while the crows represent hopes, courage, and change. after i read that i avoided to watch this MV, only listen to the music and enjoy the dance performance because i know i could not handle that kind of visualization at that time since im also struggling with myself a lot. a few minutes ago i decided to watch the MV, and i could relate so much with the girls in the MV. struggling, fighting suicidal ideations. the lyrics comforted me a lot and encouraged me to stay strong and brave fighting with the world, because there will always a hope "crow" flying with me to make sure that i am doing okay and stay alive. i will always cherish this message with me. if any of the tripleS members are reading this comment, i would like to thank you for your hard work and bravery. i might be not your biggest fan, but you have changed a part of me that always think i am hopeless, into someone that have a glimpse of hope. thank you, i love you all and will keep rooting for tripleS

This song really makes me look back to when I was 21. I had been mentally abused and SA'd by someone and it took a toll on everything in my life. I secluded myself, dropped out of university, and became empty inside. It really felt like the end like there was no life after this. However, something in me just woke up one day and I saw hope. Kind of like the MV its like they're at the end and then suddenly everything just comes up out of the ground and back to life. Now I have graduated college and found someone who treats me like a human being. Gosh i didn't expect to cry like this! So beautiful

My take on this mv: It’s all abt overcoming depression and suicidal thoughts. The whole point is that the girls are on the verge of dying (last stage of depression), but they end up not going through w it. The video is full of crows, which obviously represent death, but looking up crow symbolism it seems that they can also represent change and hope. Yooyeon makes the decision to drown herself, but she ends up rushing out of the water, and later we can see the crow in the bathtub (there is hope, suicide is not the solution). We can also see her overeating and with food around the bathtub, which can also be a symptom of depression. Soomin spends her whole life gaming, secluded in her room. She’s rotting to death (the ants in her hand). Hayeon decides to stop in the middle of the crosswalk hoping to get run over, she doesn’t seem scared or surprised when looking at the car. However, the car stops just before hitting her, and we can see the crow. Hope again. Seoyeon and Jiyeon jumping off the building could be interpreted as if they were trying to commit suicide too. However, i think that they are representing the crow (as they have black wings). When it seems that it’s just gonna fall down and hit the floor, it rises up again and flies through the storm (dark times) symbolizing again the idea of hope or to stay strong. When they’re all that the cemetery and the crows fly out of the grave, it could represent the idea of leaving behind the idea of death. Abt the lyrics, they go w the video too. “Not gonna give up this time” “We stand up even when we fall” “Girl never die, girls never cry” “Don’t wanna show this part of me” Could be expressing effort to stay strong and overcome the hard times. Now for the reaching part (bc i have literally now clue abt what the scenes could mean). Jiwoo finds a dead crow, looks at it and touches it. This could represent her coming across and exploring the idea of death for the first time (suicidal thoughts). The scene with the girls inside the building with tents and everything, i think they’re a group of homeless girls (the tents, them eating there, the junk around). AND NO THEYRE NOT HAVING A PICNIC/ GOING CAMPING bc I’m sure that if that was the idea they would’ve not shot inside (what it seems like) an abandoned building. They are happy and dancing around. This could mean that even in such a situation like homelessness, you can find some type of joy? (BYE) so it’s like encouraging like “hey look, even in the worse situations there’s good things”. The rest of the shots of the girls just hanging around could be a way of saying like “go be free, go try to enjoy life”. Or maybe they don’t represent anything at all and they’re just there to fill the mv. The video could also be encouraging to seek joy or relief in friends and company (the girls having a good time hanging around, Yubin coming to see Yooyeon, Seoyeon and Jiyeon playing and then rising (as the crow) together).

I come back to this music video whenever I lose myself. It's my reminder that there will always be hope. It's such a beautiful message. I've suffered with depression and suicidal ideation since I was 9 years old. Seeing such a message brought forward and displayed in a music video like this makes me feel so heard. saw tripleS on omniscient interfering view variety show, and damn, the members were very genuine in the show. then I saw 3 other YT shows they guested on. I saw them on XYOB with joon park and brian. the members are definitely going to become more popular in variety shows, I know it. it's my first time seeing this MV, but the music sounds so familiar, I think I have heard it playing while I was out shopping somewhere. This song almost broke me but I held strong. This reminds me of me till this day, I grew being a happy child but that all went away wen my dad passed away, I was always crying, blaming myself, beating myself up about it and I realized it wasn’t my and he passed away bcuz that’s just part of life. I was still grieving my dad’s death at the time and I was visiting my best friend cuz we haven’t seen each in a long time, and I remember I was sitting on the couch watching tv with her while she was in kitchen with her mom, all sudden her dad was sliding close to me and I kept sliding down until he grab me by hip and pulled me closer and started touching me like on my thighs, rubbing my hip, rubbing on my shoulder and rubbing my private and whispering in my ear and telling me “you look good in these shorts and t shirt” I was shocked, scared, wanting to scream for help but I couldn’t cuz he threatened me…Time skipped during my 6th grade year I was in sexual Ed class and the teacher was talking about Harassment and Sexually assault and that’s wen I started breaking down crying bcuz the trauma I went through of being touched by an older men and that’s wen my mom found she was supportive, but not my ex best friend’s family they were calling me all types of names and I felt ashamed of myself…Time skip to my middle school year was the especially 8th grade cuz at that point in my mom would be so drunk and start becoming abusive and start arguing with me for no reason…Time skip wen I had a Maniac episode but I didn’t know, my first manic episode was wen I was at home doing my school work and I was stressed out bcuz I couldn’t figure out the answer to the question and for some reason I felt like I wanted to hit myself and I did, I would keep hitting myself until I felt like my pain was going away, hitting myself was my coping mechanism to release the pain I go through and I once my manic episode done I was freaked out about what I did to myself but also felt relieved cuz it felt good…through out my life I was screaming for help and I couldn’t even bring myself to ask for help until I had an mental break in the school cafeteria and went to my counselor and ask for help cuz I was struggling really bad w mental health issues and still do…my life is still tough but atp I gotta do what I gotta do to get by, I still hit myself as a coping mechanism and I can’t help it but I’m getting better and worse…I’m this broken little girl who doesn’t care about her life anymore lol…I’m just trying to get by and leave this world and peace, but Imma try to be happy but atp in my life I’m not happy I just pretend to be happy, I don’t really like people anymore. It's my first time listening to TripleS and I'm already hooked, especially with their concept. I'm a jpop fan and as fellow fans would know, a good deal of jpop songs have dark topics such as death (for example: Into the Night by Yoasobi). I never thought I would see it in kpop. It's really refreshing. And I especially like this because it sends the message of never giving up and rising again despite being so deep into our despair. It's rejecting the desire for death and giving up.

the name of the title 'girls never die' is such a fitting and strong title. tripleS has consistently spread the 'remain hopeful' theme in their songs such as 'rising' ('the stronger the rain, the stronger i become') and they've done it again here. the 'never die' title here could also point to "never say die" attitude which is remaining hopeful despite all the odds and not giving up. they are truly one of the best new gen groups in terms of music, concept, message, and everything.

Personal standouts: - Yooyeon visuals are insane here. Served as the anchor of the entire story of the MV. And the "wanna start again" line was PERFECT. - Xinyu's acting (the actor training shows--she had the best expressions through the entire movie I think. There's a reason she was in 3+ sets of scenes) - Jiyeon + Soyeon (aka our two Soyeons). Bookend symbolism anyone? - Nakyoung + Kaede being amazing dance machines. - PARK. SOHYUN. She's legit just standing there for about 7 seconds worth of clips yet it leaves an impact. I'll have to dive deep into the actual songs, but wanted to give shouts on how well this MV was made, considering they had to cater to 24 members.

미쳤다... 한국인 댓글이 이렇게나 많은 케이팝 영상 정말 오랜만이라서 나도 남긴다... 일단 음악과 뮤비 프로듀싱 실력 하나는 알아주어야 함 2:41 옥상에서 떨어지는 장면에서 ‘추락이 아닌 비상’을 형상화한 건 우울을 통해 성장하는 나-를 보여주는 것 같아서 마음이 찡했다. 한국에서 고민 많은 사춘기 청소년기를 보낸 사람만이 공감할 수 있는 장소와 포인트들이 있다. 인원이 많아서 걱정이 컸는데 다인원만이 보여줄 수 있는 것들, 한국이라서 공감할 수 있는 포인트 등등... 그동안 트리플에스가 괜히 24명과 서울을 고집한 게 아니었구나를 증명해내서 개인적으로도 너무 좋다 ㅠㅠ 한 명 한 명 주목받을 수 있는 곡과 활동도 꼭 보여주길 ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

고등학생 시절 따돌림 당했을 때 b.a.p 노래로 위로받은 것과 비슷하게 트리플에스도 그런 느낌으로 노래하는 것 같아서 뭔가 울컥한다.. 쇼츠에서 떴을 때 처음에는 노래가 좋아서였지만 가사를 보니까 과거의 나를 바라보게 된 것 같은 느낌.. 그 시절에 결국 포기하지 않았기에 지금 이 길까지 올 수 있었던 게 아닐까 싶을 정도로 나 자신을 돌아보게 만드는 노래... 흥했으면 좋겠다! 트리플에스!

i didnt realize this song really brings me back to my teenage life, its really deep. when i was 15, i ran away from my house. to another city with enough money for 1 trip. i was about to end this damned life, my family didnt care about me because of my sexual orientation which they accidentally discovered. people hated me, i was worthless. but i gave it a moment before i did it. there's a bit of light gave me hope that i will have better life one day. maybe it was God, idk. i found money when i was walking and i thought maybe i should just go home. I did not give up, i wanted to try again. now, i have found someone. he's like someone in my dreams, now we share our dreams and try again in this life. i haven't really lived a good life yet, but i have hope that i will walk on flowery road with him and i will never try to die anymore.
