I've always played a modified version in which every player is a detective, and the figurines are only used for signaling your accusation. The magnifying glass cards and the dices go unused. It's easier to explain (and easier to get people playing) but I think you lose some of the "playability" that way. Thanks for the video!

The old version I own used only one die, and always gave Miss Scarlett the first turn. Now any player can start. Plus, we have those extra clue cards you draw with the magnifying glass; the old version didn't have those.

Only confusing point is this Accusations can only be made on your turn (3:15) and you can make one if you made a suggestion BUT Making a suggestion ends your turn ( 3:00 ) even if your suggestion cannot be disproven ( 3:10 ) If your turn ends it is no longer your turn and therefore you cannot make an accusation since they can only be made on your turn A better way to have worded that part would have been that if nobody can disprove your suggestion, your turn ends UNLESS you are making it in to an accusation.

Yes, this is the way it works in practice... I think some families have a house rule that says that anyone can make their accusation at any time and not just on their turn.

This is ok but also there is an exception, and it is that one. That you can accusate after your suggestion or not, but in your turn. Your turn dosnt end if you are going to accusate. But if you miss... Its the end for you.

You can still make an accusation if your suggestion is proven wrong. If you had it narrowed down to two possibilities and one gets eliminated you don’t have to wait until your next turn, you can accuse immediately.

Can someone please help me I have a few questions.. • what is the significant of placing the weapons to random rooms? • what will happen to the character token & weapon after you put them inside that room as what shown in 02:38? Will it be back on the place where it belong the last time or the player using that character will continue playing on that room?

I always argued that rolling to move was the dumbest part of this game. The fun bit is the deductive reasoning of trying to figure out whodunnit. But with the addition of a deck of cards (as well as a second die) there might be enough variety to warrant the game being played by the book, with one exception: moving the playing pieces directly to the room used for the suggestion. All that does is screw over the other player for attempting to trek to their own room for their own suggestion and is part of the reason why I hate the roll to move system to begin with.

You need the map and the board. For a card only game, there is a seperate card Clue game

You draw a card, follow it's instructions, and THEN move.

The rule where if you don’t have a card then the next person has to until someone can show, IS STUPID!!! Because there is literally broken for the person on the right, because if let us say person does accusation and says Red, rope, library, and it goes around the table until the last person and the last person shows a card then that same person does a similar or the same accusation, and no one shows a card then he knows two things, which has happened multiply times when I play, and I hate winning like that because it ends the game in less than 5 rounds, TOTAL STUPID RULE, I have always played where you choose one person and that person only has to show you card if they have one.

This isnt about the 2024 edition but why do the rules never state in any clue game about what you can or cannot do with extra cards that are face up? I was playing a Clue game not that long ago and we had extra cards since we gave every player an even amount. We put them face up so everyone can mark them on their sheets (like it was their "own" cards). But after a round or two, a player decided it was OK to ask about 2 of the 3 cards that were face up and 1 card that could potentially be in someone's hand. I said that is cheating and an unfair advantage for the person that would have that card that wasnt face up (because now all players will know exactly what card that person has which isnt the idea of the game... revealing peoples cards to everyone, you know?) Of course a couple of people at the table argued that you can ask whatever cards you want. They proceded to check the rules but its never in there about what to do or not to do about extra face up cards. I had to google it to find that i was right and it's an unfair advantage for everyone else but the person that is exposing their card. What does everyone else think? Is it unfair for 1 person to have to expose their card to everyone in the game? Part of the game is to keep your cards as secret as possible so... it's quite obvious that it is cheating and an unfair advantage to ask about 2 revealed cards but 1 that someone could have.

It's cool he did both but from what I gather, the only difference in games is that in Cluedo, you have to accuse in the center room, vs accusing from anywhere on the board. Are there any other differences?
