With my 23 weeker twins, one was 5 months in NICU and the other one didn’t survive the NICU. The continuous PICU times too with the survivor was like going back to NICU over and over for at least two years. That whole ordeal broke my 12 year marriage in a million pieces. Like I always say, my now ex husband, my child and me survived, but the marriage didn’t. We recovered after a divorce during Covid time, and now I have another beautiful daughter with someone else and both my ex and myself remade our lives and are good friends and cop aren’t like family should, just a bigger somewhat complex family now. However, I wish we both would have been able to get help at the time and somehow fix it. Everyone’s journey is different, but I am very happy for you two and the fact that you were able to maturely stay strong and made it back to each other. One thing is for sure, together or apart, you are family for life, anyone else comes into the stablished family. There is no time for other drama when you have medically fragile children. So. May God bless your marriage and your family forever

We went through this with our one baby. It is truly a complex trauma. I feel like I didn’t start breathing until we left the NICU. I felt like I didn’t recognize my partner. Or myself. I felt out of my body. In a constant state of panic. Im a nurse- it didn’t help. I don’t even see how it could be possible for the relationship to not end up on the back burner / suffering. Props to you both for coming back together- that is all you can do and y’all are doing great.

Hearing your parental experience in such a traumatic stay is so helpful for other parents. And family to better understand to help friends in this. Thank you for your vulnerability. This is helping me understand what my best friend has just gone through/in. In a different medical thing of course. But thank you…… ❤

It makes me very happy you overcame so much and got back together! As a nurse (also in pediatrics for some time) I have seen so many families falling apart in similar situations. It’s so much and takes such a huge toll. I really hope both of you are able to process all the medical trauma and fully heal. Really no parents should go through what you had to go through. I feel what you shared could be very helpful for other parents in similar situations! To see they are not alone with all of their challenges.

You're 100% right about your life as parents being rare, especially for 3 NICU medically fragile babies. Being so amazing and yet rare, would you ever consider doing a TV show if asked? Have you been asked? I'd watch for sure. Understandable if you wouldn't do a show, I was just curious.

👵💜 Always remember, on an airplane, you always put the oxygen mask on yourself first! Thank you so much for sharing your home and family. That can't be easy either. It is so good to see you together. You are so young going through all of this. Most couples only have one baby in icu and you had to do it threefold. Just remembering everything the doctors and nurses told you must have been very hard.Ezzy has progressed rapidly since he has been.home and still needs a lot of extra care. You are both remarkable parents. You are so loving with the boys and patient. 💜💜💜👶👶👶

You both suffer complex ptsd this is common in nicu parents. Most end up with ptsd but because you had 3 to deal with. You are such a lovely couple and Im so happy for you that you have worked together to make your relationship stronger. What you have both been through is so hard, one baby with health problems is hard, but to have three of them - its no wonder it took a toll on your relationship. Braxton you are so right, you can only deal with a situation and be there for others, if you take care of yourself. In the moment its hard to do, but it shows you were meant to be together that you have worked on your own issues and needs, and then with each other - and your both so young. Wishing you a lifetime of happy times x

I see such a positive difference in both of you. I think as moms, people expect us to juggle it all and hold it all together. We even put those expectations on ourselves. All of which creates a huge ball of wax as my dad would say. What you do daily Aubrey is a true inspiration. The increased maturity and confidece in Braxton in his roles as a man, SO is very evident. Way to hang tough and keep meeting each other where you are at.

I hope things continue to get easier as the boys get older, and you guys can start to have a more normal family life. Wishing you all the best. Aubrey- you really need to write a book. Start writing down as much as you can so you have all the facts down and you don’t lose them over time. You may not have time to do it now, but in the future it might be a consideration.

When my son was in the NICU, I would always say. A new fire to put out everyday. The fear of my baby getting NEC. Jumping as I walk in the NICU n see the team running to a bedside ressesitating a baby , hoping it's not mine and you guys had it times three. Hearing that you two gave each other a break just warms my heart. You were and are a team. I never had that. I agree about the No support either.. I had other kids at home . I was basically the only parent who went up to NICU mostly. I went from the moment my mom got out of work at 5pm and stayed until 5 am for over 2 months. So 12 hours and around the clock on the weekends. You two working on your relationship is the best thing u can do for ur babies. We made it thru the NICU experience only because he really didn't go up much. Our son has a boatload of health issues and keeps getting more. I was and still am the only caretaker to our son which is fine as I went to school for nursing but my husband was supportive and good to me. Our story ends sadly my husband just recently abandoned our disabled son and me. So hearing your story warms my heart. ❤❤

How could you both not crack with all the trauma, emotions, scares, pressure that you both have gone through with the births of your boys and all of their health problems. Seasoned parents would have cracked too. But you both have done a really great job with your kiddos and I am so happy to hear that you found your way back to each other. Life can get really tough at times and you have to be strong to go through things like you have been through. Not everyone could do what you have done and what you are doing now. Those boys are very lucky to have you both as their parents. I am rooting for you and sending you lots of prayers for strength, love, togetherness and lots of Happiness!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

You two are amazing, you’ve been through so much and seems like you’ve come out the other end, even if you have another down patch you know you can work through it, we are all on a journey, I lost my job recently and was very down, coming through it now and watching and listening to this video I know I can do it and you guys will do too, sending lots of love from the UK 🙏🥰

Oh my goodness y'all. Y'all can survive anything after this! I wish I was closer and knew y'all cuz I'm that type of friend. I rally with my friends to help. Remember each of you need alone time also. Not just together time. keep working on your together time too. My hubby and I would talk for 30 min hidden in the bathroom every day just to connect with each other. 20 years later were strong. ❤❤

So happy you both have found your way back to one another for you and your family. I understand the NICU experience first hand, but only one baby. I can only imagine 3. And yes the experience is different for each of us. I takes a tolls for sure. Prayers for your continued growth and restoration.
