Spring Day is referred to "The Queen" cause it has never moved off Korea's Melon Music Charts since its release in 2017. I think its the biggest associated song with BTS💜

RM wrote spring day,It was written in November and December 2016 while walking in Saetgang Eco Park in Yeouido, Seoul in South Korea. The song's main melody was inspired by the dried leaves blowing off the trees. RM composed the lyrics and melody in two days.

Most people don't understand that RM writes most of their songs by default, with Suga and J-Hope contributing their rap verses many times and helping compose the total song. RM has written 210+ songs, Suga and J-Hope have a hand in writing 150+ songs each while the vocalists have written around 25+ songs each, including their solo songs. RM is also the executive producer for all Bts songs, so the final sound of the song is decided by him. People think he's the leader only for promotional activities or organizational stuff like communicating with the team, but actually he's the leader because the entire musical and thought-wise direction of the group is his.

Seb is me when it comes to Jimin. I simply can't lie to myself. Jimin will always be my favourite 😂😂. His range is insane and his voice is so unique that it cannot be replicated. Neither men nor women can do him justice, they will always lack that little something. Reason why ppl do his dance and song cover separately and still have a hard time doing it justice. Even his dancing is a mix of so many styles that even the way he walks and his body lines comes from years and years of practice and experience beyond the idol trainee experience. You can copy his moves and pull an Ariel but you simply cannot copy his expressions and gestures, the way he feels and expresses music. It cannot be copied. His heart and kindness cannot be copied, his androgynous face cannot be copied (proved by surgeons). His aura cannot be copied. There will never be a second Jimin and that sometimes makes me sad but it just shows his uniqueness even more. Even tho I love BTS but my love for Jimin is special and I will never be able to pretend otherwise. I will always yap about him 😂

Thank you for mentioning the dancing that fans do! It's called an RPD, rapid play dance, where a bunch of people get together and dance the kpop choreography that they all know. I go to these ALL the time, and it's my favorite activity to do with my other kpop friends! Some people even learn dances JUST so they can do it in an RPD. It's been a huge part of kpop for a long time, so I'm happy you were able to learn about it!!

He was comparing covid/lockdowns to a harsh winter, hoping for spring to come. This was filmed when they couldn't get out to see their fans. They had a massive world tour cancelled because of covid lockdowns and restrictions too. This song has never left the Daily Charts in Korea since its debut (not a single day) So that's I think more than 7 years ago. Also, someone else more knowledgeable can explain about the link between this song and a national tragedy in South Korea. I believe it's the reason this song is so beloved by South Koreans and of course ARMY

@@rozaliyah in relation to the tragedy aspect, suga and RM have both talked extensively about the creation of Spring Day as a song. The song itself is about loss and missing loved ones, and it’s so beautifully written it resonated deeply with the GP in Korea. The music video however contains a ton of imagery and references to a then-recent tragedy: the sinking of the Sewol Ferry which killed 200+ people, mostly students on a school trip. The government did everything they could to downplay the tragedy because of the element of government corruption that was involved, as well as to save face internationally. Any artist who spoke out in support of the movement to get justice for the Sewol victims and their families were literally blacklisted by the government so BTS had to be very careful with how they discussed the MV back then, but it wasn’t until recently (before their military service) that either RM or Jin (I’m blanking on which but it was one of them) did an interview where they confirmed that the MV was a tribute for Sewol.

Suga was a kingmaker in this respect: he convinced management that Jimin should be part of the vocal line instead of the rap line when they were trainees. He recognized the unique beauty of Jimin’s voice and thought he had great potential. You should check out the Suchwita episode with Jimin where he talks about this with Jimin. Yes Jin the visual didn't sing so was encouraged to learn to rap, JHope the dancer did sing but having a great sense of rhythm took to rap too Jin struggled to improve as a rapper so J Hope swapped with Jin who then took singing lessons. Jimin and Jin has the highest vocal range in BTS. Even Jungkook said in a Bangtan Bomb video that it's because of these two that some of their songs have super high notes which is super difficult. tbh it's not weird to be a bit surprised about Tae considering he is the baritone of the group. The fact that Tae can go that high but still sing low is pretty crazy. I think he said that his voice changed when recording Dynamite and he managed to go up higher than he could before. Jin and JK on the other hand sing quite a lot of high notes along with Jimin.

Spring day is a very special song. The music video has lots of references to the Sewol tragedy when a bunch of teenagers died on a sinking ferry. As you said, it’s an emotional song. The song came out in 2017, and has yet to leave the top lists in South Korea.
