My husband and I had a real hard time. I was 25 and he was 27 when we had our second preemie in one year. Our first was a 26 weeker and Zach was a 25 weeker. Josh was 91 days in the NICU and ZACH was 515 days in the NICU. I was a take charge mom at the time. my husband trained to take Zach home but really never did any cares. He was afraid of him. It was a different time because it was the late 80's early 90's. We had 16 hours of nursing care in our home. Zachary's lungs were so bad he wasn't on a vent but was on humidification and O2 (sometimes as much as 60%). We had to do breathing treatments every 2 hours and chest therapy with that. His secretions were so thick. We suctioned all the time. The set up now looks so much different then back then. But back then they didn't have many babies' home with trachs. In my small town we were the only ones. He also had short gut from a medication they gave him and only had 60cm of bowel. Everything ran right through him. He had 14 surgeries on his stomach before he was 10 pounds. As you know nutrition is what helps grow new lung tissue. We had so many things against us. Once home he was re hospitalized many times. It wasn't until he was 5 he was finally home more than at the hospital. He too needed hearing aids and eye surgery. We removed the trach at 6 years old and he continued with breathing treatments, inhalers and night drips, and many therapies. He walked when he was 3 years old. Guess what he caught up!! Yes, he was delayed but could read at a 4th grade level had a Facebook page worked at a grocery store. He was in special ed classes but would come home and tell me that wow mom there is a really low functioning kid that just joined our class. I have to help him with everything. He really did not know he was disabled. Unfortunately, he was diagnosis with cancer at 24 and fought hard and just died at 32 years old. He lived his whole live with us. He probably could have lived on his own but once he was diagnosed, we didn't want him to leave. He was an amazing kid. Your boys are going to do great with a mother like you!

It’s so so so hard on a relationship to have medically fragile children or after the loss of a child. There’s lots of statistics that will just make your heart hurt. Hugs and prayers for you all.
@jessicamelchi56482 жыл бұрын
Merry Christmas! I want to start this out by saying that I have zero idea what you and Braxton are going through. Who knows. Buttt if the love is still there.. but the stress is too much.. please just know it gets easier. I had two kids and my husband and I found ourselves snippy to each other and then when our kids turned 3/4 we realized how much stress was lifted. THEN we had twins. And once again the stress flows. We keep telling ourselves that the stress will soon lesson. Also, I am a school social worker and see a lot of medically fragile kids. I can see what that can do to a relationship as well. It is hard. This message comes from a place of love. I know we don’t see everything but you and Braxton have chemistry. It is just a lot right now. All that to say.. I am rooting for you two! This too shall pass. And maybe things aren’t meant to be. But I thought maybe Id share our experience because we have seen the other side in our relationship and our twins are just a few weeks younger than your boys. So if there is love there.. and you both are hoping for things to work.. just know you will find yourselves again. Best advise I was given was “give each other the benefit of the doubt before ever speaking.” That may seem like garbage now but when it sinks in. It hits hard. Happy Holidays Fuller Fam. We are rooting for you here in Michigan. 💜

Send you warm thoughts and good vibes. As a triplet Mom myself, I can totally relate to the stress of everything and it’s effect on relationships. Their Dad and I divorced when they were 14-15 years old. Now that I look back on it all, the stress of Triplets and both of us working full time, there wasn’t time to work on “us”. In the end, stay positive! The babies will pick up on the stress and none of you need that. Hugs and prayers! 🙏

Oh Im so sorry to hear you and Braxton have split up, you both have such crazy stressful lives with three babies and their medical issues, you are a wonderful couple so hope you manage to work it out. Great news on Ezra, reduction in medication is amazing, loved the photos of him. Fingers crossed it wont be too much longer that you have to wait for him to be home - but as you say its on Ezra's timing. Daxon's doing really well and hope all the investigations and procedures go well. Well done Croix on eating thats such good news. Sorry to hear (excuse the pun) that Ezra has to have hearing aids, like you say its another challenge for him, but great they have picked it up so he will be able to here you all in future. Ive missed your videos but you are such a busy mum with a hectic life its very understandable with any delays. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, which I really hope brings good things for you, Braxton and all the boys xx

I absolutely could not deal with this situation… I am unendingly AMAZED with how this mom has stepped up to the plate and gone above and beyond for her kids. I know she doesn’t have a choice BUT to step up, but let’s be honest: 99% of people could not be a caretaker for 3 severely disabled children at one time like this. The dad separating is messed up, but I also understand bc this is SUCH an insanely complicated situation…

We honestly don’t know what happened to their relationship. What we do know is that she was very clear that they are still equally splitting responsibilities for the boys. I really wouldn’t say that he ‘walked out’ on them at all.

I've read somewhere that parents of multiples have a higher divorce rate. It's hard to maintain a relationship when you're trying to care for a baby or two or three. We have twins and it was so hard with our schedules being opposite because we wanted to raise them and not pay a daycare to do it. We survived the experience and are stronger in our relationship but we did a lot of talking to understand each other. Definitely would've split up if either of the girls would've had medical issues. I'm the organized one and the worrier. My girls are now 20 and they say they felt the tension when my husband and I were home together but they now understand what was going on.
