Yes you can carry I guess so, yes it can be squeezed upto 3/4th size

You can tie the tent on the utility straps outside or you can fit the tent inside the bag if you join top and bottom compartment..

My experience is superb with this bag, it's very comfortable for trek & weight management is great, very spacious and sturdy too. I carry my tent, sleeping bag, cooking set and all other necessary camping items in it and it handles everything great..

Not sure since I never took this bag to a metro station.. But the metal rod is not sharp, it is like all other metal structures generally found in trolley bags which they normally allow. You may tell the metro staff that the metal is a part of bag and it is non-removable..

The main compartment doesn't have zipper? Asking this because i need to travel through airlines. Will it be safe to take this without a zipper on the main upper compartment?

Main compartment has cord lock not zipper.. generally cord lock is also safe but if we particularly talk about flights, i think it won't be safe because baggages are kept and handled by airport staff for longer periods and they throw the bags on conveyors while loading/unloading, which may cause pressure on cord lock and it can open.. and moreover they won't checkin the baggage without lock i think..

Experience was very good, it doesn't let you feel the weight if you properly fit the luggage inside and wear it properly using all straps..

Quality is very good as per my observation, seems durable, and size is also fit for trekking. I haven't seen colnel 80L model but I think 80L rucksack shall be bigger and I think it won't be comfortable for trekking if you are less than 5'10"

15.6 inches Laptop fits comfortably, not sure about 17.3. Yes this bag is good for 6'2". Iam 5'8" and it fits me well and I find it comfortable during trek. Since you are more than 6feet, you can even go for 80L model..

The weight management of tripole walker series rucksack is bad. When fully packed, it feels that it is pulling you backwards. Better go with Tripole Terra or Tripole Air series.
