I was born in Methuen and lived in Lawrence with my family as a child and watching this takes me back to the good old days of how much I used to love when my parents and grandparents took me here as a child this is one of the best rides down, memory lane ever

I grew up in Lawrence and would go there sometimes after school for a pastry or pizza slice. I remember it was always busy no matter what. The food was always so rich, high quality and delicious. Yeah I miss those times. I love how they never moved. Such a great family business.

It is a revered local institution, one of the few remaining strong and in business after many decades. The immigrant families have left Lawrence for the suburbs, but their children return to Lawrence for Italian bread, pastry, and pan pizza. I remember when they modernized their facility on Common Street in the early 1950s when my parents would go there each weekend for Italian bread and rolls. We would also get their pizza slices each Summer at the beach.

My favorite pizza! The cannolis are always filled to order so they’re amazingly crispy! I love the bread selection it’s the only Italian bakery I can find breads from my childhood.If you never tried the strawberry cream cake you don’t know what you are missing it’s light & soooo yummy!

Square pizza company! The guy used to work for Tripoli’s. He’s been there four years! Exact same pizza. I drive 200 miles round trip to get it and worth every bite!

"Beach pizza" is one of the most interesting local cuisines in the area and Tripoli is the OG. You can get Sicilian style pizza all over the country. But beach pizza is a weird bastardization of it that you'll only find around here. Typically not as thick as Sicilian, with a very sweet sauce, usually topped with minimal cheese because you're supposed to get it with a slice of provolone on top. Worth trying if you're ever north of Boston.

Its worth trying, a lot of people around here love it. I personally think its great, but I know a few people who don't like the sweetness aspect of it
@atonesb52512 жыл бұрын
@@earthwormjim420 Piro's in Methuen serves it with a less sweet sauce. It's still sweet, but closer to regular pizza sauce IMO. Anyone who thinks Tripoli is too sweet should definitely try that.

Their cannolis are phenomenal! But I find the pizza sauce weirdly sweet - is it just me?

I agree I like their cannolis and I think the sauce is sweet as well. My boyfriend said that is what makes it good.
@jonathanmaza76874 жыл бұрын
Our sauce is sweet, but its definitely something you dont get at other local pizza places, or mainstream pizza restaurants! At least from my experience.

@@jonathanmaza7687 Tell the family ownership thanks for the 100+ years of service to the community... Our family grew up on "Tripoli Bakery" , as we bought bread there regularly and every Sunday after Mass when I was growing up... It is a very unique place for sure... The 🇮🇹 Italian "sticks" (baghetti) as we used to call them were "delizioso "and cookies/ cannolis as well, as I found out about those later....😍 Their "Siciliana" style square pizza is the best,and have not had anything close to it for years... We used to get it at the Salisbury Beach location as well...Only in the summer months....
