I lived across the street from them when I was a little boy. From 92-2001 They would open up their windows (in their living room) and would practice and play music every Saturday morning. They weren’t Main Stream I feel until this song came out. It was a wonderful memory explains why I too play my music super loud Saturday morning when I’m cleaning or in my car. It was the whole 90’s vibe for me that made me fall in love. When this song came out I was telling my friends at school that I know them,& I live directly across the street from them! The storytelling, the melody, the riffs, that surprise ending with the lyrics...this is a perfect example of how perfect 90s alt rock was.. today's alternative can't even hold a candle to the "creativity" in this song.. and that's exactly what alternative music is missing today, "creativity". This is like a children's book for the adult ears.. it's playful, entertaining, provoking, and in your face..... We really had something so special in the 90s.. what a shame it's gone.

Gotta agree here. I was in high school when bands like Tripping Daisy, Wheatus, Harvey Danger, Eels, Marcy Playground etc were big on the radio. I was 10 in '91 & although its very common to look at the years of our youth/teens years later through those "rose colored glasses" I can tell you that it was a GREAT experience & I've thought that the "kids/youth" in the following generations who are actually into more thought provoking type endeavors have for the most part gotten TOTALLY ROYALLY fucked. Could that've sounded any more like the words of A crotchety, pissy, mad at the world old man? In short, like, if the patience to read anything longer then 3 short sentences has been beaten or bred out of you, you got ripped off. Better luck in your next incarnation my young friend

I was 10 in '91. I can vividly remember at least twice walking down to my cities library (back in dem dare days, if you were even just half intelligent it was a common belief you were safe to walk about on your own) just so I could borrow/checkout Nirvana's Nevermind album so I could bounce ALL over my room to it while playing Super Mario World. Although it's very common to look at the years of our youth/teens much later through those "rose colored glasses" I can tell you that it was a GREAT experience & I've thought that the "kids/youth" in the following generations who are actually into more thought provoking type endeavors have for the most part gotten TOTALLY ROYALLY fucked. Could that've sounded any more like the words of a crotchety, pissy, mad at the world old man? In short, if the patience to read anything longer then 3 short sentences has been beaten or bred out of you, the gist of my sermon here is you got ripped off. Better luck in your next incarnation my young friend

I'm 50 and have enjoyed music from the 70's, 80's and 90's all were exceptional eras in their own right. However that having been said something happened around 2010 that went way wrong. 😱😱😱

I do. Come back in here pretty often. These guys make me realized I was going to be alternative and unstable when I would be all grown up. 😂 90' music was good for everything they called back then "alternative rock" 💘
