When you were landing at Almaty, did you remember the Tu-144 "Konkordsky" supersonic? That was one of the two only airports to have ever had regular Tu-144 flights (the other being Moscow-Vnukovo and the flight between them the only scheduled line), when the city was called Alma-Ata and was the capital of the Kazakh SSR. But I won't say "good old days" because they weren't.

If you fly with high class airline with full service in Indonesia you can get a hot meal in 60-90(or above) minutes flight. Even ini domestic route. So i guest almost every full service airline in the world do that such as Air Astana

Because Kazakh was systematically excluded in Soviet times to the point where it wasn't even taught in schools. As a result, when Kazakhstan became independent, the whole professional class was russian speaking only. It still is. And English nowadays too. But speaking Kazakh is still rare.
