Hello KZbin and welcome on board DL137!
This is a rather rough edit from my recent trip between Amsterdam Schiphol and Detroit Wayne County airports, shot back in late spring.
This the middle leg of three flights, the first flight which left Bristol UK can be found here: • Stunning spring landin...
And arrival here: • Stormy Departure from ...
The final destination of the trip was KMCI.
This was my first trip with Delta Airways which flew me on behalf their Skyteam partner KLM. I must say they are now my favorite airline to fly with, and I've used over ten other airlines for long haul operations in economy class.
They say the best way to keep a passenger happy is to keep them fed and watered and boy did that ring true! Delta provided more than normal amounts of in flight beverage services, great food and snacks and amenities not provided by other leading airlines.
Whilst flying economy, to make an impact an airline must provide the little things, Delta again did so. To have a hot towel provided before and after take off, sleeping packs with eye shades and earplugs as well as extra pillows and blankets were some of the things that flagship carriers like British Airways and American failed to provide.
Whilst the food was realistically economy class, their selection was good and the food left me full and satisfied. I especially enjoyed being served a piping hot pretzel bun toasted sandwich and ice cream an hour before landing, food items which put British Airways cereal bar 'breakfast' to shame!
The flight attendants were chirpy as always and provided service with a smile. Whenever I'd look up from my IFE there would be at least one member of personnel roaming the cabin offering bottles of water to anyone who needed it.
The IFE was packed with hundreds of shows and movies with a good selection of recent releases to choose from. Unusually there were a fair amount of Chinese films available too, I guess Delta must have strong ties with the Asian superpower?
I flew on board a spacious A330-300 which had ample leg pitch. the aircraft itself was N811NW.
Apologies for the shaky GoPro footage, it's the best I had to do the job!
