This is a classic example of how untrained civil servants are in this country. One exam, one interview and off you go into the field. With archaic, colonial rules, and codes, which make officers use these powers to harrass people. "BLOODY UNEDUCATED VILLAGERS ". I am sure this is the same person, who might have written an essay on social justice during his mains, from his coaching notes. He also went on to say in the interview that " I want to become a DM to serve the people " And here he is in the field, walking like a king. You are DM. You are a Public servant. You have every right to stop the wedding, but with a proper way. Shameless

Since I wrote this comment 2 years ago , it s weird for me to suddenly get a reaction to this. Still I would state that for any change in the system , you require criticism. You can argue if the criticism can be valid or articulated in a different way. Its nothing alien that UPSC examinations need reform. And not just the examination , but also the larger societal perception regarding the services. When you give such a morally +socially high stage to an exam which is at the end of the day public service , you are still in a colonial hangover. This might push genuine candidates into the service , and not poor thirsty people who are just hell bent to break into the system , without any regard for what the job is. @@ashishranjan5483

He is repeatedly saying that everything is clearly written in Section 144. I see some educated morons attending marriage functions like they don't give a shit about the system and its rules. I'm From Chennai. Two days back a man on the road was wearing a handkerchief instead of a mask and was beaten up badly with laatis by two policemen...actually he had a mask with him and it was torn... He was on his way to buy a mask so he was wearing a kerchief till then... The Man was later hospitalized for severe bruises by me and few other people with me... These policemen and officers just want to show their frustration on the general public and don't have the guts to show it on politicians and other corrupt officials.

As an officer, handling stuffs with patience meticulously matters a lot for he must understand that his behavioral actions aren't showcasing him as a very angry officer barging into a wedding but as a v. frustrated officer doing so. People must follow the laws religiously needless to say but the family who waits and spends for this auspicious day didn't deserve the treatment. They were treated with immense embarrassment like untamed animals. The authority and power could have been used in several acceptable ways for ministering the same issue.
