You don't know if you would have held it until 100k. When you're broke and see how your 70k in Bitcoin turns into only 50k, the emotions kick in and FOMO comes into play, especially as a 'brokie'. Why are rich people so good at investing? Because money doesn’t matter to them, and therefore they don't tie their emotions to the outcome. As a brokie, you check your 20k Bitcoin portfolio every second, hoping it goes up. No one who bought Bitcoin with their last money at 20k would have held it until 100k. NO ONE. Unless someone has 3-4 years of stock market experience, otherwise it's impossible.

Wearing a Rolex or driving a Ferrari for your own enjoyment is great - Also saving every penny and reducing life quality drastically in hope for a better future in 30 years is stupid. But the worst is to buy those things to impress others. Nobody really cares about you not matter if you're 21 driving a Ferrari or if you're 51 driving a Ferrari. External validation is the worst motive in history of mankind. Normal and even broke people not seeking external validation and enjoying their lives have a hundred times better existence compared to people looking for external validation. I own and wear nice Rolex watches - 99% of people don't even look at my wrist because they don't care. No one does. Live you own life - Do not try to impress others.
