Tristram Shandy is a wonderful read. However first time I tried reading it in my late teens I couldn't get into it. A few years later however, BBC Radio 3 did a brilliant dramatisation of the novel which I enjoyed, and when I tried again I totally got it. It's been one of my favourite books ever since.

Thank you so much for this video! I have read Edgeworth and West and I think I have read the Vicar of Wakefield. I read the books several years ago and can't remember the stories. Jane West, I read for my Jane Austen Book club. Next, we are reading some poets. I am getting ready to jump into that project. What about Evelina? Was that author a little early? I know she influenced Jane Austen. I think I would like to do the reading project for February. I have to find out what the guidelines are.

Nice list. But I think you should put Thomas Love Peacock on it. His first novel was published in 1815. He's got an impish sense of humor that is hard to imitate. He practically invented the novel of ideas. I've read most of his novels. As to Lady Morgan, I once owned a copy of the Wild Irish Girl but was disappointed in it and never finished it. I used to love reading Georgette Heyer. She is really a fine writer,

Read the men you mentioned but not the women, I'll have to look into them, heard of The Wild Irish Girl and Edgeworth. My Grandmother was named Amanda and her Grandmother was named Amanda, so that one sounds interesting since it was popular in America. Looked it up, my Great-Great Grandmother was born in 1837, so after the Regency period, but just bought Regina Maria Roche's The Children of the Abbey for the Kindle. I have Marriage by Susan Ferrier in the tbr, published 1818, that works. Loved Tristam Shandy and The Vicar of Wakefield. Thank you Tristan.
