You cannot fight Thanos one on one. He's a better fighter than that. The best thing is to stay your distance and keep hitting him with the lighting. And then go for the head.

The original (you can find the scripts and concept art online) has Hulk getting a revenge match over the death of Nat. It was supposed to be Thanos vs World Breaker but they took it out because Blackrock and Vanguard told the leftist commandeered Marvel Studios that masculinity was on its way OUT and femininity IN, so they had to take another Swipe at the ultimate symbol of untestrained masculinity - The Hulk. Crazy as it sounds, that is what happened. Again, you can literally find actual concept art on this, until Stan died. Then, it flipped to this Professor Hulk crap. The route NO ONE wanted Marvel to take.

It depends on what the writers would think is cool in any given moment. There's no consistency to anyone's powers in these movies. Moreover, all of the regular human characters would have been long since dead after taking their first significant injury. But it is a comics book movie; so,... it's all just whatever, and "go with it" I guess.

My all time favorite scene. Buuuut at the end of Infinity Wars Thor struck Thanos down in 2 seconds with 6 infinity stones, but the 3 major Avengers couldn't destroy him just one on one? Kind of a continuity problem I think.
