The final ride of 2023 on the Triumph Bonneville T100 Goldline before putting it away for winter. Having had it now for most of the year, I still love the Triumph as much now as I did when I first bought it back in March. A good Allround bike both two up and solo, on the back roads and on the dual carriageway, it really is the perfect modern retro.

Morning Mr TAYM. I really do like Buddy, and if I ever come into some money, I would certainly be keen to buy one. When we met up at the Super Sausage, I followed you on the little ride, and he sounded marvellous. A proper “British Twin” sound (and before I get shot down, I have owned a couple), especially under load, coming off the roundabouts……..made me smile. Cheers

I was born in 1958 and the Triumph Bonneville was born in 1959. The Triumph Bonneville is without any doubt the most Iconic beautiful motorcycle ever made. It is the King of Cool 😎 I love my Honda cb500s black ⚫️ it's the most reliable motorcycle in the world but it's not a Triumph Bonneville. Lovely bike Tyam. Be a good boy and put a mud flap on that front mudguard. He'll still look cool with the mud flap and it'll stop all that dirt from ruining the Radiator.

I want to say a great full thanks for your thorough detailed comments in the previous videos of the pros and cons of T120 and T100. Your comparison of both bikes helped me in my decision to go with anew T 100. Gold line in September I just love the bike especially 5 speed rather than 6 To any one else deliberating T10 v T100 I would argue less is more from the rideability point of view. I fitted cruise control to answer the motorway distance question Overall it feels a much lighter bike when riding and agile at low speed absolutely marvellous ! all the best to you and Mrs Taym 🏍️🏍️

Bonneville the best motorcycle in the world regardless of whether you choose the T100 or T120 I'm biased to the T120 but that's just personal choice. Buddy is a stunning looking bike I do like the Gold Line editions. I know people get all twisted if you say anything about Triumph over Royal Enfield and it doesn't take anything away from the Enfield it is a great bike and at a fabulous price but there is no question that the Triumph is just a step further on in every respect but you do have to pay for it. In other news I did manage to get out on a bike for a bit yesterday and I've just uploaded my first "proper" video to KZbin and fair play to you TAYM it is a lot harder than it looks to get right but I'll keep having a go and any tips will be gratefully received lol

A very mucky Buddy TAYM I have to say I keep coming back to these Triumphs T100 and 120 in my searches for this coming year and talking of basic suspension how often do you or anyone else really tinker with their suspension ? for me I have never really messed with it on any of my previous bikes I have contemplated getting it done on my current one but have never gotten around to it . I have had a few off's but I don't think suspension was ever the cause 😂.Horsepower I find my current bike at about 95bhp plenty fast enough for me in fact probably much more than I need these days , I think that less than say 45 bhp is a little low only because of the cars around you these days have more power so I feel you always need that bit more to escape them imo 😉 Less than say 45 is fine for the lanes of course and I know a whole lot of folks do great tours on less than 45bhp it's only my opinion after all . Oh dear to much again note to self it's a comment not a book 😂.

Question to you sir is how can i repair a flat with tubed tire? can you insert a sealer through the valve? A tubeless i can pop a plug in to get me home. As you know the v7 stone special have wonderful clocks and spoked wheels and they would be my first choice. The T100 is right there as well since i have a dealership 10 miles away.

I think you've hit the nail on the head here Mr TAYM when you said " It makes me feel special that I'm riding a Triumph ". It's exactly the way I feel too when I'm on a Triumph or a Guzzi . Japanese machines are very good but do they make me feel special ? No not really . Do German/Austrian bikes [ with Chinese major components ] make me feel special ? Absolut nicht . Indian bikes ? They're OK and they do a job for a reasonable price . But special ? Hardly . American bikes ? Glitzy eye candy , like a sugar rush , but special ? Not for this cowboy . Chinese bikes ? Never in a million years and I wouldn't be seen dead on one . The latest crop of Bonnies are the best looking and truer to the classics of the late 60's . The exhaust note is good but will never be as good as a 60's Triumph with a 360degree crank , I can hear them coming for miles and it's always a joy . BSAs aren't bad either , Nortons snort at you and RE Interceptors [ real ones ] shake the earth as they go by . Buddie however , is the Compleat Modern Motorcycle .

Dear Sir, Many thanks for your videos - I really enjoy watching them, so please keep up the good work. I'm coming very close to pulling the trigger on one of these, but there's just a couple of things I'm concerned about. Firstly, how do you find it on the motorways? Is there enough power there to hold a steady 75-85mph for a lengthy period of time, with enough left for overtaking (or getting out of the way)? The reason I ask is because I'll probably end up taking mine over to France, and doing some touring etc.. Secondly, what about all the crap/crud/muck that hits the radiator? I'll definitely get a rad guard' with mine, but I'm just wondering how you clean it etc..Has it caused any real problems for you?. Any advice you can give me - with the benefit of hindsight of someone who has owned a T100 for a while - would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks for your time and efforts, Neil (West Mids).
@TAYM
@TAYM 11 ай бұрын
Thanks Neil 😁 I had the T120 before this and found it more cumbersome. I find the T100 perfect for everything and it sits solidly on the motorway at 75/80 both solo and 2-up 😁 70 is 3500revs which is halfway to redline 😁 yes, it definitely needs a fender extender and radiator guard, the muck does get flicked up😁 They come without a centre stand so I would definitely recommend you have one fitted, makes maintenance much easier 😁 I would also find an aftermarket grab rail because the triumph stuff is pretty expensive for what it is😁 if I was touring Europe I might also consider a touring seat 😁 hope that helps 😁

Dear TAYM, Many thanks for your reply. It's been very helpful, and has certainly allayed a few concerns. If you don't mind, I have a couple of more questions...if you're taking your Bonneville out in our fine British weather, has rust ever been a problem for you? For example, the brushed aluminium engine casing - do you spray on a protectant after you wash it etc.? Also, chain maintenance - if I'm flying round France for a week or two, in your opinion, is it really necessary to clean and lube the chain every 400-odd miles, or could I get away with it until I return home to Blighty? Once again, many thanks for your time. Have a good one, Neil :)@@TAYM

Of course I see that you have a foot in the past, but note that you will ride a broad variety of bikes. I would have guessed that you'd prefer a Speed Twin for general pricing, but- understand the value of twin clocks, 2-tone tank paints w/ exceptional badging.. The thunderbird and the tiger series are better but they do need to start to put shaft drives on those bike for that money.

Might need to drop T100 off to Derek's Detailing for a triple wash & Ceramic job.HE opens at 9am that's what time I dropped my Trident 🔱 in. 😁😆😂🤣.

I'm thinking 🤔 about the Speedtwin 900 Goldline or new Green or blue one.A 1200 be great but a bit pricey & have to go second hand for 1200 but prefer a new 900 & one less gear to change which will help with torque delivery.A V7 850 is another bike I'm interested in in 12months time but the torque delivery starts lower down on Triumph 900 & NZ 🇳🇿 only has a 100kmh top speed.V7 be better for touring with large tank,shaft drive,6 speed.I don't tour much so Speedtwin be adequate for the odd touring & they're quite economical 200-210km per 10L of gas ⛽ as Speedtwin only has 12L tank.T100 has 14.5L tank twin clocks but has spokes if Triumph release a T100 SE with 17" alloys I'd definitely get that ad it looks better than Speedtwin but that has Alloys & is lighter it's the alloys that swing it for me.
