Absolutely amazing machine and bravo on the work! I am looking to start one now that I have completed the restoration of my 1952 BMW R51/3. Your bike, with a few alterations, is exactly what I want to do for my next project. I am looking to have a different tank, white and black paint schematic, beach bars, sissy bar, etc. If you don't mind, can you give me a list of the parts you utilized? I am talking about items like the speedo/tacho, springer forks, oil filter set-up, chain tensioner, manual shift combo, etc... I appreciate it and thank you in advance! Again, GORGEOUS machine! Prost!

thx! happy to help. if you have a basis and start the project, let me know what you are looking for and I let you know where I got the stuff. however, I figured some stuff I saw at other bikes did not really go along with my frame or idea. but i love the design from angrymonkeycycles, so I could not buy it and tried my best to build it myself. Speedo is from Motogadget, fork from TGS Germany (cheap thing, next time I would no spare the money to get a harley reproduction or original springer!) oil filter set up is from W&W germany, chain tensioner lowbrow customs US, manual shift own idea! Cheers man and hv fn getting stuff together. I just finished the next project: pre unit bonanza bike

Fucking dope. Where did the shifter come from?
@frankbasler66739 жыл бұрын
Thx! That was an idea I had and I fiddled it together using the regular rod to the front, a ball joint and a regular foot shift piece, which I made straight and put a knob on it. Done. Cheers

Frank, that is a beautiful Bobber! I'm building a 66 TR6R with 6" Hardtail at the moment. I want it finished by May 2019. Love your forward controls but not sure if they will work on my bike as I have low twin exhausts.
@frankbasler66735 жыл бұрын
Thank you. That is a good question. I would go first for forward controls best for riding position. That is usually first. Unless you build a show bike and not a rider. The exhaust has to follow. Best of luck with your project! Cheers

@@frankbasler6673 don't worry my bobber will be a rider not a show bike! When the engine is back in the frame and exhausts on, I'll take a look if I can fit forward controls. The look I want requires low exhausts.

Great looking bike, where did you get hold of that seat? and what springer is that -2? -4?
@frankbasler667310 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The springer is -4 and from TGS. The seat is made by Spirit Leather in Germany. Check the website and ask for Jimi. Really good stuff they build. www.spirit-leather.de/cms/

Frank, my Bobber build is coming on good. I noticed in this vid that you have the same chain tensioner as me. I have a David Bird Hardtail and have to mount it facing forward like you, but it looks like you have switched it around somehow. My arm to the skateboard wheel is on the other side to yours. Did you change the chain tensioner around? Cheers from London.

Hi there, all the Best for the project. There are many tensioners out there. With most you cannot change direction. I did buy mine from lowbrow Customs USA spot on firmly frame and direction. It fittet Plug and Play and works perfekt. I just took the ugly roller off and added the bigger skateboard roller. For that I had to fab a new axle. Check out www.lowbrowcustoms.com/catalogsearch/result/?order=relevance&dir=desc&q=Chain+tensioner They have all sort of directions. Weld and bold on. I hope that helps. Cheers Frank

Glad u made another vid of the bike Still looks amazing How's the dna springer holding up
@frankbasler667310 жыл бұрын
Thanks, though I do one driving. DNA's holding up well. Bit of a jumper without shockabsorber, but for what I drive I like it. Have 2000KM on the clock and running fine. Is you project coming along?
