Fascinating, I'm a mechanical numpty - stumbled across this vide as I was looking for Triumph Daytona 955I information.

No 1 cylinder idle air feed tube (black corrugated) appears cracked. A common issue, causing fast/erratic idle. Replace with heat resistance silicone tubes.

spoke too soon. blue tubes now in place to match the Caspian Blue. Mine are red to match the Tornado Red.

Do you have a video about oil temp and rev counter fault finding as my 2001 955 daytona has 2 issues , my rev counter just doesn’t work and the oil temp gauge just goes straight to hot even on initial start up . The bike still runs fine though 🤷♂️.

No, sorry. I don’t have a video for that 😐

Thanks for posting the video! I have two comments: Shouldn't you synchronise the throttle bodies after adjusting the valves? (I realise that this is difficult to do without coolant). I would have shortened the stud bolts of the exhaust manifold to a minimum, which makes the next manifold removal with the water cooler fitted much easier.
@garage_tales3 жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for your comment. There is a part 2 for this video in which I fill it with coolant and sync the throttle bodies. Sadly I’ve been very short on time so it’s taking a lot. Regarding the studs, I haven’t thought of shortening them, but I don’t think I would anyway. Taking the radiator off is quite easy I think. Even if you leave the hoses on and just pull it away a bit :) But if you’d rather shorten them, go for it :)

What kind of hose (the blue one) are you using to get rid of the old brittle system?
@garage_tales3 жыл бұрын
It’s just a hose off ebay. 6mm I.D. If I remember correctly. It has some reinforcement in the middle as well which prevents it from collapsing in the tight bends.
