Good work Henry! Rather than utterly destroying a seized nut. I find one diagonal cut and a swift blow ith a hammer and cold chisel will open the nut enough tto remove it easily. Also have you been watching too many Americal channels - with your bushings and sway bars? LoL

I did grow up in the US (10-17 years old) and I don’t know which is British v American word. I just use whatever comes to mind

Thanks Henry, was that the subframe that you had reworked quite significantly that was donated kindly by Chris Robinson? Love the time lapse parts. May I ask, that whilst putting the front parts back on I couldn't help notice body corrosion on the 7?

Hi Chris, yes, that is the subframe donated by Chris Robinson. And corrosion on the 7. Every time I look I seem to find more. 12 months ago I thought this car was fairly free but I now realise I'm going to have to do some work on it. I think the state of the subframe I took off should have been a clue. It does mean I'm doing things the wrong way around! How unusual

Henry, those Rimmers gaitors are a waste of time. I replaced mine and within a couple of years they had spit again, so I just cut them off. That was about 12 years ago!

These weren’t from RimmerBros. And I’ve no idea if they’re any good but they were about half the price. But I think a little tight. I’ve just refurbed the white steering rack (everything came apart easily) and reused the gaiters because they were good

The originals lasted decade and the after market replacements a couple of years. They didn’t fail MOT so never replaced them as I only use car in the dry for a few hundred miles a year. I have the original rad hoses on mine I replaced them a couple of times and only lasted a year or so, so I re-installed the originals! IME aftermarket rubber parts are pretty poor so I use polyurethane where I can
