The “failed school system” comment in the beginning always bothers me. As an educator in what some would call a “failed school system”, people have to start being accountable for themselves and their children. The schools can’t control the hours kids are out here committing crimes and everything else. Judge Mathis has said himself he gave his mother (rest her soul) a hard time for a long time… is that the school’s fault too? There are people in the school systems really trying to make a difference with no parental support from a lot of people. I come from the same school system I work from - hell, we’re in poverty too!!!!! Teachers are poor out here 🙄. But we all have choices. Ex - Judge Mathis turning his life around… We know the people at the top of the school hierarchies are bad news, but a lot of us are trying.

I see both sides. I'm a very involved and active parent, but there are so many roadblocks in the school system. I see so many unmotivated teachers with no passion for their career choice...especially those making 6 figures. The pandemic and teacher shortage made things worse. I've had to hire private tutors to help my kids because there are so many unlicensed teachers who are trying their best to keep up with the overcrowding classes and ridiculous curriculum they have to teach. Many teachers are severely underpaid and others overpaid. It's a mess but I do see a LOT of uninvolved parents who expect Teachers to perform miracles within an 8 hour day and never show up to meet the teacher night or conferences.

His story changed many people's lives. As to the plaintiff, she's the epitome of resilience. Even though life has beaten her down multiple times, she still chooses to be kind.
