Nice to see someone take the bike offroad, most videos so far have been dealership tests and on road only. Great video overall, i was surprised to see the low like and subscriber count after seeing the video quality and dry humour.

Thanks. Well, it's advertised as an all road bike, so it felt appropriate!

Great review, thank you! I test rode one last Saturday, and was very surprised! It felt just right, well balanced, good in the city and in the twisties. For your information I am 62 years of age and 6' 2" It was, as you say a little buzzy on the motorway above 120kph, (I live in Spain) but if you slowed down to 100-110 kph it was fine! The main thing for me was that it felt almost telepathic, and intuitive and makes you want to ride further. It felt very stable, and I could set off from a stand still without a little wobble! I found the Instruments ok, but prefer a digital cluster as I find it easier to glance at. I felt very happy and confident on it! People looked at it and car drivers wound their windows down to take a look. Then on Monday I rode a Voge ac525X . This was a different experience! It felt overly substantial and a little unrefined for a twin. It was however, a relaxing bike, if ridden at 90-100 kph, I also found the voge to be buzzy through the seat, but it does have an easy to read TFT screen..The triumph was the better package for me, but the voge is also a very handsome bike, but not as refined. Making the gearing higher on both bikes would help the vibrations. Thank you for a good review.

I've had mine for 5 months and I've already swapped out the tires, moving up to a dual sport tire is absolutely night and day difference off road! the 400x is absolutely capable off road with the right rubber. I'd put it closer to 60/40 on road and off. it is definitely not as light as a 250 dirt bike on the trails, but it also has no problem going everywhere i used to take my 250, so win-win!

@@lightweightadv yeah i had to just take the rear tire hugger off completely, and i had to raise the front fender just a hair. the tire cleared but just barely so I feel more comfortable raising it up a bit.

@nathandalleave252 which tires did you fit onto your 400x? Looking to replace them soon after first service but the choice is limited in my country so I rather hear some first!

I love it when someone 6' and a bit describes the seat as "moderately low". Those of us with little legs are left with our feet dangling.

UK average height is around 5'10"- 5'11", so it's not "tall" for UK is what I think I was trying to say. I suppose, it's all relevant 🤷🏻♂️😂

Brilliant video :) we were considering a 400x. Instead of the T7 I got dad as motivation to get back on a bike through his stage 3b/4 prostate cancer treatment. I’ve rode the Tenere a few times and the seating position isn’t quite right for dad, he really wanted one as that’s what we planned on taking to Norway on our now very changed trip. Still doing it but road based so there’s less risk to his bones. Due to meds. I’m currently in the process of looking at getting him a street scrambler 900 :) as he had a sit on one yesterday and loved the low seat height (lower than the 400x) and much lower than the T7 even lowered. Really enjoyed the review :) as someone who’s perfect idea of fun is the 1150gsa clicking the big miles over the green laning but not having space for the 1150 with our house move an downsize to Devon an that now going it’s interesting looking at bikes like the 400x that could fit through a doorway if needs be. I also ride a 1927 Norton 16H flat tanker so love the singles although my dad prefers the twins I think that’s the great thing so much for everyone. Having rejected 2x 390 Ktms riddled with issues and build quality problems the 400x is a little concerning being built in the same factory only time will tell on that but I noticed over the last few weeks on the fb groups for the 400x people’s issues keep getting deleted so that’s not a good sign. The immobilisers fault, condensation in the display, major stalling issues seem to be talked about quite a bit before it’s deleted so only time will tell on that one. Personally I think it’s epic to see more bikes at this price range it’s a shame they couldn’t have done a twin the old tr6 in the 60s was a 650 an about 166kg dry an the old t100c 500 was 152kg darn modern bikes are heavy! One quick question were your knees outta the infills towards the forks? Similar leg length to me :) keep up the brilliant work.

I also found 400 to be more of a scrambler than the 1200.
@da72maАй бұрын
@@short_dose_of_internetI have all three bikes, the 400X, the 900SS, and the 1200XE... the most capable is the 1200XE but all three bikes are roadbikes, where you can travel down the gravel roads to the fishing site or the cabin in the woods... they are not Enduros and not Offroad bikes... also minor crashes are adding really quickly up for spendy repairs if you dare anything more than light offroad... as on road bikes they are all fantastic, though the 400X suits the beginner and the guy who is looking for a second bike... I made the case multiple times for the Scrambler 900 as this bike sees alot more miles than my 1200 or 400... I called it the Swiss knife of motorcycles in my early review if I remember right... the 1200 though very heavy got the hooligan engine and can transport a passenger with ease, all while hile the 400 is an easy around the town bike... if you are looking for an ADV or even an offroad bike however look somewhere else... the Scramblers are a styling exercise with light off the beaten path capabilities... and that is while I fell for them

The question about a 21" front wheel - remember this is the Scrambler 400X. If we go by Triumph's model naming, then maybe there's an XE in the wings.
