2nd gear - 12 - 70 kmph 3rd gear - 20 - 100 kmph 4th gear - 30 - 120 kmph 5th gear - 45 - 145 kmph 6th gear - 55 - 170 kmph Great tractibility in slow traffic & makes the bike have so much speed range in each gear ❤.. To put that in reference.. You can ride the bike in 60kmph comfortably in 2nd/ 3rd/ 4th/ 5th/ 6th gear!!!! 😇.. Amazing stuff!!

I think tractability test is the most important aspect of bike selection in India. From my lil experience i can tell you the most imp reason new jawa failed in India is becus you cant ride it slow, whereas the target market was suppose to be enfield buyers (people who walk the bike not ride ) they say "bullet pe Chalna".

i used to ask god for a geared bike while riding my scooty, i got the jawa 42 2.1 now below 60kmph, theres only constant gear changing, tak tak tak good bike, but engine is unoptimized for slow speeds might burn my clutch soon

The current crop of Jawas and Yezdis (the four strokes) are the worst motorcycles in the segment. Half-baked products. But since you are riding it anyway, shift down to a lower and let the clutch out completely. You won't be burning your clutch then 😃

Me and my friend recently did a ride from Bangalore to Kolkata on our respective rides( fz25 and his speed 400) ...infact we reached yesterday only 28th Jan,2024 . I realised there is a huge speedo error in speed400... Especially in higher speeds...in the yamaha its barely 5-6kmph. I was doing 100-105 and correspondingly he was doing 110 or more....Due to this very reason..total distance from Bangalore to Kolkata on my trip meter its 1967kms... While on his trip meter it was 2047kms..massive 80kms difference, its a bajaj trait.. as in every Bajaj bike this happens... Hence they all claim to return excellent mileage bcse the owner wont know.... Just thought of sharing it in this comment section... Lastly a fantastic fast ride.... Enjoyed it thoroughly.

Wow what an amazing debut machine from the house of Triumph-Bajaj! I'm surprised as to how they managed to make a motorcycle that is BOTH FASTER AND MORE TRACTABLE compared to Honda Highness! Could you shed some technical knowledge as to how this could be possible, despite the Speed 400 having a shorter stroke motor.

I think it doesnt ride like a CB 350, the honda knocking is smooth and doesnt feel irritating. The KTMs and Dominars are not such a way. Could be similar character of Dominar for speed 400

I want RE s low end torque also a rev friendly motor by which i can overtake in traffic.. I m not very fond of high speed like 130,140..i want low end torque also power at low speed like best of both worlds.. What should i go for? Triumph scrambler 400x or hD 440 or cb 350 ? Height is 5 ft 11..So m not considering speed 400..

Of course classic. I own a hunter with the same engine. You can take the bike from stand still in third gear. Fifth around 35, 4th gear can act as a scooter. around 15kmph to 90kmph can be achieved in 4th gear

For that I will have to open the bike, and I don't think I will get that opportunity anytime soon. However, you have to understand that unlike the Harley, these bikes will be exported to the UK and other parts of the world, so they just cannot compromise on quality. You know that the Indian consumer laws are downright crap, whereas it's not the same in the developed parts of the world. That's why the manufacturers have no option but to give good quality parts to save them from expensive lawsuits. 😃

I am waiting to ride it first. Also i need to see the RE Himalaya,It could be the bike to beat we will see but i think my heart wants the Triumph. The price of the 400X is very good as well it looks like the Himalaya 450 will cost more.

@@drd3816 something that no one would have told.yoi until now is that the scrambler has different sprocketing so it will have different speeds at the same rpm! Can't comment on it until I ride it in September/October. But if there's one thing I can assure you of right away is that it won't have that intense vibrations that they become a bother. So that's what I had said in my Hindi review of the Speed 400 as well 😃

@hariharanm1964 check again. It won't show any different to you. The markings on this tacho are stupid. You have to be really observant to note it properly. 100 on the speedo is around 5800-5900 rpm, and taking into account the speedo error (which these two Triumphs have a lot), the actual 100 comes at 6k and nothing below it 😊 It's not 5K by a mile!
