For those who don't understand why do riders ride like this in some countries, then the answer is simple: These countries have 'bike culture', so most of the car drivers DO understand how to deal with motorbikes on highway, though sh1t happens once in a while. Most car drivers are motorcyclists as well, right from their very young ages. So yeah, for most of them, there's nothing 'shocking' about this. But they'll be in trouble if they ride like these in countries that don't share similar 'biking cultures'.
@m_zbrv39676 жыл бұрын

Some of the negative commenters fail to see that most of the riders I observed were riding within their skills range. I think many of you commenting negatively can't appreciate the level of skill you were seeing in the video. I think, if you have the skill, go for it. If you don't, know your limitations and drive accordingly. Years ago I rode with the same speed doing interstate high speed runs with my friends. As I age and my reflexes and response times slow, I had also slowed my speed. Again, it's a matter of riding within your skills range. Great video, BTW..enjoyed the ride. Also, nice landscape also that route. Thanks!
@colinlyders2 жыл бұрын
Bullshit. There's "riding within your skills range" & then there's riding like a complete moron. Riding like that on the open road with little or no traffic is one thing, but doing what they were doing in traffic like that is just plain stupid. It doesn't matter how high your skill level is (or you think it is), you can't control what other road users do. All it would take is for one car or truck driver to make an erratic move & one (or possibly more) of those guys would have been toast. Just a bunch of wannabe heroes who think riding fast = skill.

I still look for excuses to get out on my Street Triple or my Supersport 950 whenever I can - but no, my normal rides don't include lane splitting at over 200 km/h in traffic that's going less than half that speed. If you think that the only alternative to riding like that is "staying at home & locking your doors" then I think you have greatly exaggerated your riding experience in your first comment. The fact that you equate an interstate high speed run with what those idiots were doing proves my point.

As a biker I can say this, Driving fast is not the issue here, the issue here is driving dirty, and when you drive dirty like them, the possibility of an accident is higher. When I drive, the car drivers always know when I come from and from which side.

Absolutely right! Driving like this is just stupid
@You-Toober8 жыл бұрын
+Bobby King Speed is an issue here, too. What if, for some reason, the bikers need to slow down or stop? They are going way too fast to stop quickly.
@robertking10328 жыл бұрын
+You Toober Look man, if you are so scared you should don't use a bike at all, probably you use a big scooter for Sunday ride. I am a professional biker with 10 years of experience and going fast is not a problem if you follow the rules which divide Bikers that a Car Drivers because the Car Drivers always know from where and on which side the biker will overtake him, so its a common respect. In that way the Car drivers always give more space for the bikers to slow down and you can predict what is happening, and I can assure you that car drivers hear you and see you coming all the time, so automatically everybody know what to do. This is how it is where I live and where people are civilized with the bikers, I cannot say that about you. So, driving dirty is messy and every rules are broken and nobody know where from you are coming so the accident can be next.
@You-Toober8 жыл бұрын
+Bobby King I understand what you said. In a perfect world, yes when drivers follow the rules, everything should be fine. My post was referring to when they don't. And *you don't know if the driver is always paying attention*. Texting while driving, putting on make-up, let's say someone just learning/ starting to drive. You assume the driver is paying attention - that's dangerous for YOU. A piece of metal in the road that could puncture your tire. A drunk or angry driver that switches lanes all of a sudden without signaling. Oil or something slippery on the road - and you coming along at over 240 kph (150 mph) wouldn't be able to see that at all, or in time. Also other dangers. That is what my post was about. I'm not scared of motorcycles, but i do respect them. And i'm aware of the risks, i've been riding for almost 30 years (since 1987). I've had my collisions, accidents, but i'm still here and i still ride. Also, I am not "casting the first stone" here. I have a sport bike and i love speed, too (but i'm not going to tell on myself on the internet). But i'm more cautious about it. *Not that type of speed on a busy highway!* But also i'll say i'm here in the USA and i've never ridden in your country. So maybe the car/van/taxi/truck drivers there are different than here in the USA. I don't know. But people are going to do what they are going to do. I'll just say this then: ride safe (and hopefully you have health and life insurance).

Just like many of you, sometimes I also drive my car when I'm not speeding on a sportbike. So we can pretty much understand the natures of both riding and driving. Small touches at those speeds can set you off balance and make you fly off. Aftermath with that gear, or lack of gear, won't be pretty. The riders are the riders. If they kill themselves riding like this, I won't give a shit. It's their own fault. The trauma one of these bad boys might cause upon someone else on that road, commuting to work or whatever, is what irritates me to death. Ride a little more responsibly instead of passing everybody on whatever side you like, acting like the road is your own.

Only at Malaysia. You can showoff your riding skill, ride with max speed, racing, and get new friend with same hobby. It's fun for those who love superbike. But remember, ride with your own risk and it's illegal.

Had a STR a few years back nice bike, judging by the fully lit up shift indictors and RPM for the model, would it be safe to say you couldn't really wring it's neck any more? Sketchy for traffic IMHO
@rn6758 жыл бұрын
Richard Parsloe i was a liter bike rider previously. riding an str is like a toy, so easy to master. I've utilized all the power it has, managed a 245kmh top speed til it hits the limiter.

Some really reckless riding. Looks like fun in a high adrenaline way. I wouldn't trust the other traffic to not do something silly and have things end badly. Well done for getting away with it and surviving this time.
@vsdiamonds85343 жыл бұрын
@David Allen The fact that he liked this but didnt change his style of riding makes me scared about those people, if he survives the next years with this style of riding its pure luck anyway...
@firth41513 жыл бұрын
@@vsdiamonds8534 lmao. We been riding like this in Malaysia for years. Cars and bikers coexist here. We all know its reckless. We all know its stupid. Yet we know how to mitigate risk and we are still here, we know how to work around the drivers and roads, when to pull back and when to push. You can take your concerns and apply to your own country :* you wouldnt last a day riding here if you think its all about luck

@Brad2meetU4 жыл бұрын
My ex would travel pillion all through France on the way to the B'ol D'or at Paul Richard Circuit. We'd be on whichever Ninja I had at the time & she had neck muscles like a rugby front row. A great ride... & the Ninjas were none too bad either. 😀
