If I remember correctly, Schaafs oneitis bike is actually the R1250RS and not the Street Triple R. I might be wrong though, but they are pretty far apart in terms of pricing too.

I own a Street Triple R 675 from 2014 and I just love the sublime suspension and the engine. There are other great bikes out there, but IMHO nothing comes close to the combination of speed, agility, smooth triple engine and that airbox sound.

Yeah man. I got my 675 R roughly 3 years ago, and to this day I'm still flashed every time I ride it (and have space to move). I can't see myself ever replacing it voluntarily. To quote another moto journalist's review: "Best. bike. ever. The end." Fun fact - before I got the Streety, I used to test-ride lots of bikes, just to keep up to date with the market situation. Ever since I got her, I didn't test a single other one. I just don't see the point anymore. ;)

Ich persönlich LIEBE den Sound eines Motorrads doch wenn man wie bei 1:55 DIREKT nach Aufhebung der Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung voll ans Gas geht oder 6:43 mit weit über 100 (120) an einem Wohnhaus vorbeifährt dann habe ich KEIN VERSTÄNDNIS dafür. Und dann brauchen wir uns auch nicht wundern über die aktuellen Reaktionen!

Bei Punkt 1 muss ich dir recht geben, Punkt 2 ist allerdings ein unbewohntes Gebäude. Und ja, Motorrad fahren wird bald keinen Spaß mehr machen. Daran ändern meine Videos aber nichts. Und deshalb bin ich egoistisch genug, bis dahin meinen Spaß zu haben. Und nachdem ich IMMER noch wesentlich angepasster fahre, als geschätzte 80 Prozent der Motorradfahrer da draußen habe ich kein schlechtes Gewissen. Ironic that the famous 765cc Street Triple *is* the "small bike fun" these days going up against 889-955cc Yamaha MT09 / KTM D890 / Kawasaki Z900 / Ducati V2! Only Honda has marched in recently with a modest competitor, the Hornet 755 @ 90hp. Personally I think Suzuki is out of the running and may exit the motorcycle market entirely, it sounds like to me that they have pending money problems.

Loved my Street Triple 675 R, I set the limiter lights to be progressive which is one thing I miss now on my Tiger! QUESTION - I thought the newer R's came with the TFT and it was only the entry-level model (possibly S?) that got the older style clocks

Weirdly the 765R for 2020 lost the TFT and gained the clocks updated headlights and an up and down quick shifter - pre Facelift 765r has TFT old headlights no up and down quick shifter 👍

Reviews like this made me buy my Streety R one year ago brand new as a beginner rider (50+ in age so did my A license straightaway). And I do not regret it at all. For me it is the does-it-all bike. Break-in in winter months with ice sheets and snow on the road, also no problem. But had to turn around at some points as road conditions were too bad for my liking. Heated grips are a godsend. Now 8000 km later I know the bike much better, gained much more experience and still I say I don’t want another bike. Multiple 9-10 hour days in the saddle prove it for me. No aches and still feeling ok after such a ride. Feel the bike can do more than I ever dare. The analog tach/lcd speedo combination is just brilliant. All info you need at a glance. And most of all it is just fun to ride. Only thing I did after buying the bike is switch to RS bar end mirrors as the standard ones seemed to collapse at times and I had to keep adjusting them. No such problems for the bar end mirrors.
