Very helpful. I am currently refurbishing all of my Vitesse Mk2 suspension so this has been helpful, thank you. I will be posting some videos on my channel as I go through the work. Kind regards Paul from 48SPOKES

You're welcome, good luck with the suspension refurb. I am thinking about tackling a rotoflex replacement - would definitely need to video that!

Excellent. Rebuilding my GT6 suspension and this is a great help.

So glad it helped! Remember to leave the final tightening of all the bolts until the car is back on the ground (with body on etc) to ensure the car sits properly. good luck!

Does the thread wear out on the vertical link, at any point?
@laurelgreentriumph7 ай бұрын
The threads don't usually wear on the vertical link, because the trunnion is a softer metal so wears first. However vertical links have been known to snap at the threads mainly because of water ingress and rusting leading to failure. Another reason to keep the trunnions oiled and the seals replaced!

Hi great video, when you screw the new trunnion on how far do you screw it on if you get me - manual says enough to achieve lock to lock steering but roughly how many turns off of fully tight is that approx
@laurelgreentriumph2 жыл бұрын
Yes you've found the important bit in that the steering must be free to travel from lock to lock, so "backing off" one complete turn would be enough to achieve this. I cant think you'd want any more than this, but its been a while since I did this job so anyone else feel free to chip in!

@@laurelgreentriumph I think some people say 1.5 turns but logically I think one turn would be plenty and equal on each side would be fine - going to renew both at the same time
@laurelgreentriumph2 жыл бұрын
@@metalman7806 yes I wouldn't argue with 1.5 turns but you wouldn't want any more.
