How to start the Triund trek:
Triund trek trail can be reached two ways:
Bhagsu Nag: This is almost 5 km trek trail but steep one.
Via Dharamkot: This is almost 9 km. But you can take taxi till Gallu temple, which is 3 km from Mcleod ganj and then start trek for 6 km from Gallu temple.
Necessary things to keep in mind before trekking:
Start early around 5-6 AM, if you are going for day trek.
Travel light - Don't make your bags heavy.
Carry water, some light food - like biscuits, energy bars, etc.
Carry umbrella or ponchos/raincoats
Carry walking stick
Garbage bag to collect your empty food wrappers or bottles.
Apply sunscreen
Wear good, comfortable shoes.
Take all necessary medicines, bandage, pain reliever sprays, etc.
Carry cash
There are no toilets
No mobile network
Difficulty of trek: Easy to moderate
Being a first timer and have sedentary lifestyle, it was bit breath taking and tiring trek for me at the beginning. Its completely fine to go on your own pace, safely and comfortably.
