For the question for the End Stone it wasn't The End because it is the demention and that is just what it's called. And the reason it was sky was because The Nether is below the regular world and The End is above the regular so it is sky.

You did the math completely wrong with the clay and brick slabs thing, but lucky for you it was right. 3 clay blocks gives you 12 clay, which turns into 12 bricks, it takes 4 bricks to make a block of bricks, 12 bricks equals 3 blocks, put those 3 blocks into a crafting table and you get, 6 slabs, I believe,
