@@misterbubbles6389 actually it's not a myth. 48 was the number of lifeboats originally planned for Titanic by the chief designer Alexander Carlisle, 3 on each davit; however this number was eventually reduced for cosmetic reasons, to make the decks look less cluttered. The tonnage thing is actually based on a law at the time that based the number of lifeboats required on the gross register tonnage of a ship, not her passenger capacity. Her lifeboats were as follows 2 x wooden cutters (capacity 40 people each) 14 x 30 foot wooden lifeboats (capacity 65 people each) 4 x folding or ‘collapsible’ lifeboats (capacity 47 people each)

Nope, it's definitely Othello, because the discs are white on one side, black on the other, so each disc is black and white. Also, backgammon is brown & tan.

The titanic originally did have more lifeboats but because it was called the unsinkable ship, and the first class didnt want to see them outside their windows, they removed them to the 20 they did have. Another fun fact, the boats could carry roughly 60 people, but because of the panic and poor running of rules, the boats would land with as little as 7 leaving many people forced to jump and hope they find a nice group to let them in
