They are absolutely different things.

Smaller rechargeable ones are usually called screw guns. Drills are usually much bigger/more powerful and have a removable battery. If you put a drill bit on a screw gun it’ll make it through drywall at best. Drills on the other hand can make it through all kinds of materials.
