Cake decorator here! Runny icing add powdered sugar to harden it up for piping. Cause those pilsbury icings off the shelf are just meant to slap on a cake not fancy decorate. Also putting food coloring in icing makes it runny. So powdered sugar helps. And for your first time scrapping a cake you did great!!

Sooo the key to frosting a cake is doing what’s called a crumb coat first where you thinly coat the cake with frosting, put in fridge to set, and then frost the cake to fully coat. An extra step for vids, but makes it pretty like you!! 🩷🩷🩷
