One of the funniest things that most people miss is that Deadpool probably would've had a much easier time hunting for Francis if he was using his codename "Ajax" instead of asking for him by his real name. 😄 Also, this isn't the first movie to have the main character break the fourth wall and talk to the audience. The end credits scene is a reference to the 80's movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which is also a movie known for having its main protagonist break the fourth wall.

That... is a really good point about the names. I guess Pool's addiction to juvenile dickery, especially when it really gets under someone's skin for no particular reason, kinda trumped his mission for vengeance at times? Every room, every place in a fiction (audio/visual/literature) are seen in 3 walls, the 4th wall being the perspective of the audience. Characters like Deadpool, She Hulk are created making them aware of that concept. So DP interacts with the audience as well. At one point of time in comics, when DP went crazy, he went on killing everyone in the Marvel Universe. You see, he believed that he was liberating them from the comic world.

Technically, they aren't giving him superpowers. Basically, in some people, there is an inactivated X-Gene. They are torturing him until his X-Gene activates and mutates him and that gene gives you unique powers. In Wade's case, he is dying so the X-gene made him mutate to combat the disease thus getting regeneration abilities. X-Gene stuff is explained in the X-Men franchise. Should have started with X-men first.... Deadpool actually forms part of the X-men franchise... you can look for it. Either way sooner or later you will have to watch them as they will form part of the MCU soon... you can start by watching them in order, up until you reach Deadpool 2.

Deadpool has a number of super powers, with the main one being a super advanced healing factor, but basically the list is: *Regenerative Healing Factor* : In the comics, his healing factor is considered the second most powerful (stronger than Wolverine's, but weaker than Hulk's) he can regenerate every issue, If he loses any limbs, he regenerates in a matter of seconds (in the movie they reduced this for a comic factor, but it continues very fast) fatal damage like gunshots to vital organs, prostate or brain damage only stun him momentarily and heal in a matter of minutes, even the cancer cells in his body are healed much faster than they are able to spread *Immortality* : A concequence from his healing factor, Wade is in general completely incapable of dying, any kind of disease does not affect him, poisons are quickly eliminated by his immune system, any toxin responsible for cell degradation is eliminated daily (that means he doesn't age), in theory the only way to kill him would be cut his body in pieces, because theoretically his body doesn't regenerate when his nervous system isn't directly connected with his brain *Superhuman reflexes* : Wade has a string of secondary mutations that increase his physical attributes, including super reflexes, he cuts bullets in half with his Katanas *Superhuman stamina* : A consequence of his healing factor is that he rarely gets tired, as his body constantly eliminates any fatigue substance, he could fight continuously for hours before getting tired *Superhuman agility* : His body is much more elastic than normal humans, he fought inside a car extremely tight with five different men, killed them all and came out completely unscathed *Superhuman strenght* : his muscles far surpass the strength of an ordinary human being, he can lift a man in the air with a single hand, throw a human body many meters with one punch, shoves his Katana into Francis' arm and through solid rock behind him
@LutzHerting
@LutzHerting 2 жыл бұрын
#1 Deadpool's immortality isn't a consequence of the healing factor. He is immortal because he was in a relationship with Death at some point (who usually appears as a woman in the comics). That REALLY pissed off Thanos, who was in a messed-up stalker-love with Death. In the comics, Thanos' reason to kill half of all life in the universe with the infinity glove was just to try to impress Death. So when Death chose Deadpool instead, the pissed-off Thanos made Deadpool immortal to make sure he and Death could never meet again. Yes - the stories in the comics are much weirder and more confusing than in the movies. #2 No, cutting Deadpool to pieces won't do shit. He once regenerated from a single cell of his body. It just takes longer the more of his body is destroyed. #3 You forgot the superpower to know that he is a character in a comic book. He constantly uses that knowledge, usually by abusing typical tropes and plot points of comic books to his advantage. And sometimes he even cuts through panels of the comic to get to another scene in the story faster and has even time-traveled by cutting his way a few pages backward through the book.

Here's the thing about Deadpool, he KNOWS that he's a fictional character, whether it's in the comics, videogames or movies. The X-Men movies are pretty uneven, some of them are either good, ok, bad or great. Deadpool 1 and 2 are the only movies doing the X-Men franchise right and if you're planning to see Deadpool 2, see if you can watch the Super Duper Cut (that one is uncut, has the deleted scenes that was cut from the theatrical cut of the movie and even though both cuts has post credit scenes, this one also has an end credit scene that was again cut from the theatrical cut).

33:25 The reason he recognized Bob and the reason the whole bar is so casual about death (and also why everyone had a gun) is because all of them are or were mercenaries. It was stated or heavily hinted at some point in the movie. As a side note, a common nickname of Deadpool is Merc with a Mouth.

A couple of things... Deadpool (Wade Wilson) was a mercenary before all of this. Sometimes referred to as "The Merc with a Mouth". His character actually shows up in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Wade is the character they turn into Weapon X. (They put stolen mutant powers into him.) There is an easter egg earlier in this movie that shows the action figure of that character. Another easter egg you may have missed... the "Boss battle" takes place on the deck of a scraped Helicarrier from Avengers. :) But I've never understood why Deadpool's healing and regeneration doesn't "heal" his appearence.

If you didn't know, that post credit scene is a reference to Ferris Buelers day off, it has the exact same end credit, down to the wall paper and robe. there are so many little references and jokes in this one, so it would be exhausting to name them all. One important thing to know about the character of deadpool is that the same torture that gave him powers, also drove him mad, so he is aware of the fact that he is a fictional character. he often breaks the fourth wall like this in his comic book too, so it's part of him.

There are control collars that take away mutant abilities from anybody wearing them. That is how they control people once they acquire superhuman abilities. The collars only get removed when it is time for the super abilities to be used, afterwards the collar goes right back on. Deadpool 2 shows you exactly how that system works.

These days it would be cordite, technically, unless you're firing custom or pre-1889 ammo. Cordite's the stuff that didn't envelop the battlefield in an impenetrable fog of smoke. But that's a nitpick; everyone knows what you mean, colloquially, when you say "gunpowder". Edit: my bad, cordite's been replaced by the triple-base propellants. Still, it's a nitpick, as the colloquialism stands.

I don’t think any other actor could play him. You’ll love the second Deadpool. Try to get the Super Duper Cut (the extended version) then after watching that they released a PG13 version of Deadpool 2 called “Once Upon a Deadpool”. I heard that they finally greenlit Deadpool 3.

Deadpool/Wade Wilson is Marvel's parody of DC comics' Deathstroke/Slade Wilson. He never stops talking, constantly breaks the fourth wall and is essentially immortal. This film was made in large part due to the character's poor design and treatment in one of the X-Men movies. Ryan Reynolds and Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman like to mess with each other

If you like Morena Baccarin, and everyone should, you might want to check out the criminally-cut-short Joss Whedon "sci-fi western" series, "Firefly". Couple of deeper-cut references to the comics in here. Deadpool was originally created as something of a parody of the wildly-successful "Wolverine" and all the knock-offs he inspired (similar to how the TMNT were originally a parody of Daredevil), hence the endless one-sided rivalry with both the character and Hugh Jackman. Bob the henchman was a longtime sidekick of Pool's, having previously been a faceless drone of AIM (which you may recall from Ironman 3). Lots of interesting stuff in there about what it would actually be like to be a working stiff in one of these giant evil organizations, similar to the deconstruction done in "The Venture Bros" of the modernist "Johnny Quest" "super-science" genre and how the peons would get on in that world (specifically Henchmen 21 and 24). You're right about Ajax/Francis's "superpower" not really being much of one on its own. There's gotta be some implied regeneration in there, because "the inability to feel pain" is normally just called "leprosy" (now "Hansen's disease", because of all the nasty and unjustified social stigma) and is kinda the opposite of a superhuman ability. The scene with Wade and Vanessa one-upping each other with stories about their abusive childhoods was almost certainly inspired by a "Monty Python before Monty Python" skit called "The Four Yorkshiremen". If you haven't seen it, it's 4 minutes that are very much worth your time (don't mind the visuals; it's meant to look just post-war as part of the satire. You might also recognize the fellow with the eyes as Marty Feldman from Mel Brooks' hilarious "Young Frankenstein"); kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHyrd414irl0as0 For my two cents; don't worry about watching older stuff or what-have-you. This is about getting to experience great stories through the eyes of someone who's fun to hang with and has never seen them before. As long as it's new and/or interesting to you, that's all that matters. Thanks for another great reaction!

One of Ryan's earliest shows was, IIRC, "Two Guys and a Girl", with Nathan Fillon, who starred with Morena in the aforementioned "Firefly" and "Serenity", the film spin off. The references to hugh jackman and Wolverine, are because they're really good friends and they make fun of each other a lot in the media.

He heals somewhat slowly though so if they removed enough tissue or worked really fast I bet he could undergo a surgery. Like how the bullet hole in his forearm starts closing up or how his hand grows back; it isn't instant, it takes a little bit. I don't think something like a skin graft would ever work though because his body would (likely) just heal back to "normal" under it and shed off the graft even after it was attached. With his healing, it's highly dubious that it'd ever be possible for him to look like Ryan Reynolds again imo I don't know if his body would take to any surgery, but it'd at least be possible to get in there and try. He'd probably out heal anything substantial they tried to do and/or his healing would just undo it anyways though so I gotta agree
@22hmartin

@@Heroo01 Perhaps, but that that kind of surgery? You could get every surgeon in Hollywood's collective rolodexes and that's still an 18 hour surgery. He'd be changing the margins too quickly for that fine detail.
