According to them, it's an artifact that would reflect its owner's desires. Lara concludes this object must be dangerous and decides to take it to herself. A pity to whoever gets in her way... One minor critique I have have for the author is that the ambiences used in this level made it feel "spookier" than it actually is. I would have used TR3's lud's gate ambience in the sewers, along with TR5's rome streets ambience in the outside areas.
