Seeing you tackle OpenRails again brings a smile to my face. Feels like old times whenever I watch these reviews/music video compilations. Cheers. :)

I bought this route just after it came out and fell in love with it immediately. Easily one of the best pieces of content developed for any sim. It reminded me of why I fell in love with the original MSTS way back in 2001 when I was still in elementary school.

Throw a late era steam powered manifest on the route and one could practically see Jack Kerouac in bushes waiting to climb into an open boxcar and wind his way to solitude on Shasta's shoulder.

I didn't know you did a new ATR episode, sat through the whole thing, and nothing has changed. Music sets the tones, your narration carries us along, and the cinematics are mind-blowing, you always know how to make the best scenes on these routes Nick. Well done. Matt

Great review Nick...I've been eyeing this route for a little while now and will get it at some point. Watching your review brought back a lot of nice memories when you used to review MSTS routes. Good old days for sure.

Excellent review as always, Nick! I feel like I'm a kid again, watching these reviews on my old laptop back in 2009-2012, getting blown away by the visuals of these amazing routes and the awe inspiring soundtracks you chose. I've been following you since near the beginning, and I gotta say this feels like a true return to form. The TS19 and Wisbech reviews brought a smile to my face, but after this video I can safely say, At The Railyard is finally truly back! and I couldn't be happier. Excellent choice of route, I've been following it's development for a few years now and am so excited to see it getting the recognition it deserves, Streamlines have been working hard on this route for something like five years and it _really_ shows in the scenes you chose. It's nice to see a series regular make a return as well, this is not the first Streamlines route we've seen and hopefully won't be the last. One last thing, very happy to hear you got a sponsor, normally I cringe at youtuber sponsor sections but this time I'm just genuinely glad to hear somebody is finally funding this show, hopefully this means regular episodes can start making a return to the channel. RailDriver is a good choice of sponsor, congrats.

Hi Nick, Good to see a new review from "At The Railyard" I'm betting no 3D cabs and MSTS style background trees are because of Open Rails backwards compatibility with MSTS, but you'd have to ask the Open Rails folks if that is the case? Having said that, the Open Rails folks have added a lot of new functionality to the Sim and greatly increased the physics of the sim. Even routes like my L&HR routes see a very nice increases in frame speeds and train handling. On a side note, I've always heard Shasta pronounced (Shas-Ta with the as pronounced like ass ) Thank you Nick for this review, I've not kept up with the MSTS community or the Open Rails community, but I stay in touch with Paul. I know he continues to work on new routes for MSTS / Open Rails. Cheers, Rich S.

Thanks Rich. I believe you are correct about the pronunciation, but I learned about that too late.

Fyi, this was designed Standalone, 3d cabs takes a lot of time and TS don't have a 3d cab designer on the team, plus the trees were done like that for performance reasons.

I've been following your reviews (via my old account) since the Full Bucket Line msts days and I always look forward to these reviews. I've gone through MSTS, Trainz, TrainSim Classic, and Open Rails in its infancy bug this review is leaving me longing for some oc the Maple Leaf Tracks riutes I grew up on. How does this new route with its obvious updates perform graphics-wise on a computer? My desktop will run Trainsim Classic fine but stalls trying to run Trainz 2019.

It depends on the computer. Check their website for spec recommendations.

Nick, do you plan on doing a review of Run8 Version 3 and tackling all the new add ons since the last video (needles Sub)?
@NickOzorak5 ай бұрын
I'm not interested in reviewing Run 8 at this point. There are too many add-ons to catch up on, and I wish the sim was making more progress with realistic scenery.

Happy 15th Anniversary Nick. As my gift to you: you could perform "At The Railyard: Island Of Sodor Review" where you could explain about Sodor's history, Thomas and his friends who live there, the locations on the island, and the lines during Thomas and Friends music. Everybody would love to see you perform this review if it is possible where you could let this be a reality.
