Legit Song of the Year contender for me. Great compositional dynamics, earworm-worthy hook, instrumental brilliance, charismatic vocals...the works.

Ayasa is amazing on violin 🎻! The bassist is Wakazaemon! She is also the bassist for Marty Friedman! Mizuki on drums 🥁 is from the band Lonesome Blue. Yuki on guitar 🎸 has her own band D Drive! Which is an instrumental hard rock/heavy metal band. And of course Akane Minato on vocals! Prior to East of Eden was the vocalist for Predia and before that vocalist for Mochi to Cheese with Kanami and Akane of Band Maid! A true super group!!!! Next from East of Eden react to "This Moment "....

This song is brilliant and beautiful. Absolutely phenomenal, it’s my most played Spotify song of the year. East of Eden is in my top 10 favorite Japanese bands just on the strength of this their first song. They are a super band formed by renowned violinist Ayasa. The bassist is ridiculously good and plays for Marty Friedman. The guitarist Yuki is from the prog band D drive. The drummer is from Lonesome Blue. I didn’t know the singer before but she’s fantastic. Their second song This Moment is pretty good. First album comes out in a few weeks.

This is a brand new band, and this is their first song that was released in August. They recently released a second song, "This Moment." They have a mini-LP (5 songs) being released on Dec. 20th. It's already on my list of music to buy. Everyone in this band is an extraordinary musician, but the bass player, Wakazaemon, is my favorite. You know she must be great if Marty Friedman picked her to be the bass player on his latest tour. She's a little, sweet, soft-spoken lady who turns into the Energizer bunny when starts playing - never stops moving. What an absolute beast she is! Best new band to come around for a while. Thanks for reacting to them.

This is a really driving song. This band is indeed a violin-centered band cause (if I'm not mistaken) Ayasa the violinist is the one forming this band. The first time I listened to this song, my heart was pounding so fast even moments after the song ended.

Oh my friend! I was so looking forward to you reacting to this song and group. I really wanted to push it, but I know you’re on a musical journey and didn’t want to interfere. This is one seriously talented group and possibly the fastest rising one at that. I mean zero disrespect to my other favorites. I see the others have already left comments to guide your journey so I’ll take a short and different tangent. I can go on and on about each member, but what draws me to these Japanese groups is their friendships. Yuki (guitarist) and Saki (Nemophila guitarist) know each other well. You should check out the, “Naon-Yaon World Girl Collection,” by Keiko Terada from Show-Ya. Ayasa (violinist) is on the same level as Miyako from Lovebites is on the piano. Both ladies started at 3 years old on their instruments and are now in their very early 30’s. Wakazaemon on the bass has performed with Tamu Murata (Nemophila) on side projects aside from Marty Friedman and is a very cute and talented musician. Mizuki on the drums is absolutely top notch. Minato Akane on vocals was an actual score. From my research, their was a chance that she would not join the group as she has already been working for many, many years and needed a break. I would say keep going, but they are a new group. I have their first Blu-Ray in shipping, but having been together for less than 1 year, videos are hard to find.

This is an excellent song by this new all-female Japanese metal band. Yuki is an outstanding guitarist who usually plays in the instrumental metal band called “D_Drive”.
@wanderleyjesus6772 Жыл бұрын
I just discovered that Minato Akane (vocalist) worked ten years ago with Kanami and Akane from Band Maid! And took part on a group that has other links with Band Maid - Predia.

A new supergroup! Most of the members have day jobs, so it’s not clear this is more than a project, but we’ll see. The hook? This is a metal band built around a violinist. To top it off, she plays a custom five-string violin. I’d say that qualifies as metal. Violin: Ayasa (currently with Morphonica) Guitar: Yuki (founder and co-lead in D-Drive) Bass: Wakazaemon (bassist with Marty Friedman and other projects) Drums: Mizuki (x Lonesome Blue) Vocals: Akane Minato (x Predia, several other groups) Two songs posted to date, huge potential! Ayasa and Jill are taking rock violin to new heights.

One of the best songs this year for me, but what do you expect when you take seasoned musicians that are among the best in the world and put them together. I love how these Japanese musicians form friendships and not rivals.

Thanks for this, I had suggested that video. They deserve to be famous. If you like this kind of music, there is also Paleneo. No violin, but great musicians. Unfortunately they have only one video.

I just bet you didn’t expect all of these bands from Japan would be producing the best rock and metal music in such a long time. It’s definitely a rabbit hole I’m happy to have fallen into for the past 4 years LOVEBITES Babymetal Band Maid Nemophila Bridear Mary’s Blood Passcode Broken by the Scream Ningen Isu Lonesome Blue (the drummer for East of Eden is also in Lonesome Blue & they have a connection with LOVEBITES) and many more bands too many to name here but it’s safe to say Japan is the future of Rock and Metal and I dare anyone to prove me wrong

Yuki has been one of my favorite guitarist around for a while now. She's part of a great instrumental group called D_Drive. I'd recommend checking out their songs "Unkind Rain" and "Gekirin". Another great video is D_Drive's 30 minute performance at NAMM in 2020 promoting Marshall amps stage where they stole the show. There's also a couple songs Yuki did for the Shred Racers project where she does a collab with Saki from Nemophila. Yuki is another late bloomer who didn't pick up guitar until her late teens. She originally wanted to be a ballet dancer but was told she was too fat and her father convinced her to learn guitar in order to get out of her depression. Her dad plays and she also has a brother who can shred.

Great reaction as usual.. Keep an eye on these ladies they are going to go far... That solo section is insane.. "Bring a violin to a Rock/metal song?" Why the hell not!! Works so well. If you like the violin you really need to watch a new Aldious for your journey.. Reincarnation live.. Very cool combination of Violin, Accoustic guitar and metal.. With Re:No's silky smooth voice... killer..

i hope they stay around for a while as they have amazing potential. a kind of japanese ladies supergroup if you will. guitarist yuki from D-DRIVE. a true force. drummer mizuki formerly from LONESOME BLUE - a relatively short lived but excellent girl group. violinist ayasa from the band MORFONICA who are still together as far as i know. and MORFONICA is one of the real life bands from the anime BangDream. wakazaemon on bass - played with many epic musicians and is another star player. minato akane on vocals - formerly of idol group PREDIA and another band called MOCHI TO CHEESE that included drummer akane hirose and guitarist kanami tono from BAND MAID. these girls have been around a minute !

as far as bringing a violin into rock - it's something i haven't seen in a while. i will be dating myself here but there was a band called SEATRAIN in the early 70's from marin county , cal. and later out of marblehead mass. - near where i live - that had one epic fiddler named richard greene. saw them back then and he absolutely tore that thing to pieces. just for perspective punch up their song 'i'm willin' - still on youtube. just give it a listen. great song - great band. and of course there was also charlie daniels but he was more country than rock.

As someone who already listen to Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jean Luc Ponty and the Band "UK" in the 80s i know how great a violin as least in jazz-rock/fusion is, and of course from there its not that big way to metal. Also i remember when that japanese girls were already in the 70s and 80s often well known as beeing great violin and piano players, so it only took some years for them to go into metal, what is more or less the classical music of today. Btw.: you would mostly als like this, with the same girl on violin : Lonesome_Blue「Parallel World (Lonesome_Blue feat.Ayasa) kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJe3YoeDbddkbKc
