Glad you enjoying the change. I couldn't part with my 2014 Fat bob, but bought a 2024 tiger 900. Loving the Tiger! Harley not ridden as often now.

Last year I traded my 1200 Tiger for a 900 GT Pro. I agree with your assessment and am very pleased with the overall bike, not missed the power and certainly don't miss the weight of the big motor. I have spent many full days on the 900 and can honestly say that it's an all day comfortable bike. Love it!

50+ yo Grammy here!! So from a bit of a less usual perspective. I chose the ‘24 Tiger 900 GT Pro for my first bike and could NOT have chosen better. Your vid covers all the reasons. Manageable, smooth and with plenty of torque and go to keep a VW Golf R driver happy. Updated safety features also a big plus. Of course I’ve dumped it, so I CAN report that picking it up (w proper body mechanics) is doable. The Triumph sound is there… and awesome. LOVE this bike AND your videos!

I had the 800 tiger and got the 900 tiger gt pro last year and I JUST LOVE IT even if it's not the 2024 version, best bike I have ever had and with 64 years of age I have had many bikes 🙂 even though I live in Germany I would never think of buying a BMW GS that's my favourite HATE bike LOL, at the time I bought my Tiger the Panniers were given off free for buying a new bike so 0ver 1000,- € saved 👍

Used to have a Tiger 800 XCA, loved it, except for breaking capabilities when 2 up and loaded. And somehow top heavy. Was my 1st bike, right after passing my licence. I am 63, and I think a 1200 would probably be too heavy now. Looking forward to get the savings for a 900 GT Pro, fully equipped.

I bought a 2024 900 Rally Pro in February, and I absolutely love it. FWIW, I'm 5'8" tall amd the wind protection is extremely good for me. Better than my 2019 1290 SAS with the standard screen for sure. On par with the 1250 gs. Can confirm the new rally pro is fantastic off road as well.

My Mutli V2 is the goldilocks of Multistrada, and i love it. This GT Pro 900 is in that category i think. And there is a difference between displacement and horsepower. No one needs any more than 80-100 HP imho.

I moved from a GS to a Multi V2S, the ‘mid range’ adv bikes are enough for most and a lot more fun on most of our roads, they are also a hell of a lot better vfm, I like the Tiger and will try one next change👍.

At the start of the year I purchased tiger 900 Aragon gt. I don't understand all the guff about vibes. I only get vibes right at the top of the rev range. At normal riding speeds (UK), Its a lovely smooth, tractable engine with more than enough power . It also has a great sound track.. Also the seat is all day comfortable. The only things that bug me about the bike are the lower crash bars, which get in the way of my size 11 boots and the crap rev counter design.

I am one of those who spent up big on a GS and due to damaged and weaker shoulders have dropped her in the driveway three times :(. I need a smaller bike. Had a Tiger 800 for 8 years and loved every minute on it. The 900 GT Pro is already on my shortlist to test ride. I just really wish they still sounded like a Triumph Triple. I'll also be looking at the Striple RS and Speed Twin RS when it comes out. Only definite plan so far is to come back to Triumph. Should be one of those three.

I have the 2022 900GTP..... Pros; Great chassis, lovely little engine. The 900 is PLENTY fast enough, can tour 2 up with luggage! The BHP figures dont do it justice. Light and easy to manoeuvre, good on fuel- up to to 55Mpg, sometimes a tad more. Quick shifter is good ( but I hardly use it). Lights are great. Cons... The Bluetooth on mine is "going though the change" as it is hit & miss if it connects or stay connected. But when it works its good to be fair. The satnav system doesnt hold up as far as I can see. Its a marmite system.... you either love it or hate it... I have given up with it (So it was a waste of money) Servicing is "taking the P" expensive (See below)!! The local dealership isn't great TBH. (£300 for a annual service / £500 for a 6000 mile service! and if you're at 12000 miles and you need the valve clearance sorting, you're over £1000!)...... I will be selling my 900GTP next year (before the 12K miles is up) and probably buying a new GS !!! Note on servicing.... I can get the first 3 year service deal with my local BMW dealer for...Wait for it..... UNDER £1,000 to cover the first 3 years! Penultimate Con. Depreciation! My bike cost me just over £15,500 ( with extras) in June 2022. In February of 2024 ( Less than 2 years) I was offered just £7,500 (against a BRAND NEW BIKE!).... That is 50%+ Depreciation in just 18 months! Ps. I got offered less from the BMW dealer and another independent dealer didn't want it!🥺 Last "Con"; and by far the worst.... Has the 2022 GT Pro has WORST seat I have ever had the misfortune to have to sit on..... My bum goes numb after around an hour and its getting WORST as the seat beds in. Nb. I believe the 2024 bike has a different seat and it REALLY needed it! If it wasnt for this GOD AWFUL seat and the servicing costs, It would rank amongst the best bikes I have ridden in 25 years of biking.

Nah you’d never go back to a girlfriend that cheated on you !! ..also around 25kg weight difference to make it a “middleweight” I don’t find my GS that much difference tbh ..triumph the weight is higher up ….GS like a wheelbarrow

Now I might feel older than I once was but at 36 I can honestly say that the huge 1200-1300s have never really sang to me. With the power and torque available at 700-900cc I figure I’m fine for all that I do (and quite a lot of things I don’t). And let’s not even get started on the costs of the halo-bikes. All things being said the Tiger 900 GT Pro looks brilliant for what it is. Not sure I’d pick it over the GT, has too many things I don’t think I need. Depends on what models the dealer has left over I guess. Both models have cruise control and the same engine and that’s the biggie for me. Triumph OEM options are horribly priced IMO, rather spend a few days over winter fitting the Shad boxes I already have, some Oxford heated grips, barkbusters and pocket the difference tbh. Might not be all-matching all-singing but as a happily married man my days worrying about matching everything is over. Besides, it’s a middleweight ‘adventurer’ for the middle-aged. I’ll be grand.

After two 1290 Super Adventures, I now have a Desert X (which represents terrible value compared to the Tiger 900s but it's a Ducati). Maybe it is age I- 'm 64 and I did have a bad experience with a Super Adventure R and a slight camber (the RAC called the local CoOp for a youth to come and help me pick it up!😳) - but I have a Thruxton R with the lowered bars, I'll happily ride for several hours so not completely decrepit yet... It is not so much the weight and size, more the speed... The 1290's just seemed bored unless you were going very fast indeed - and you can only do that for so long in the UK with the relentless lowering of speed limits and crap road surfaces - so much as I loved the tech on the 1290S (which worked most of the time!) it had to go but I still miss the acceleration.

Cool review! Currently looking to pick up an adv bike that I can occasionally take my wife out on, and still enjoy on my own for some off-road fun. I've got a proper dirt bike for single track stuff, but I'd really like something that can do some lighter off reading, but make the connecting roads between off road sections more enjoyable. Had pondered a 1290 SAR, but with the sand we have down here in Florida, I'm not sure a bike like that would be good for me... I'm far from an expert rider. I had been pondering the f900 gs and the tiger rally pro... How do you feel those bikes compare? Especially keeping in mind that I'd like to bring my wife along on occasion, to try and get her more interested in getting a bike of her own....

The ktm would be a poor choice. They have some reliability issues. You’d be wise to go with the tiger, and in my opinion, the RP is the better way to go if you’re tall enough even if you don’t plan on riding dirt. You do lose the electric suspension and that’s actually a good thing. Tire size makes little difference and the suspension is much better. Nice video tho!!!

@@timrodieridesI had a ‘22 890 Adventure, coolant leak at the thermostat, cold start issues requiring 8-10 restarts (would start and run on only one cylinder), random software issues requiring shutting the bike off and restart it to clear them, the TFT dash would cloud up and rain inside (eventually “etching” the inside of the glass.), and a quick shifter that would sometimes decide no to be one, I sold it and move on, won’t be back for another one.

Just had a 2 hour test ride on 900 gt pro had three issues with it biggest one it wants to stay upright you have to put effort in to make it turn in then there's the heated grips on full same as my multistrada lowest setting not good and then the poor wind protection on the plus side engine and gearbox were brilliant. Got back on my 950 multistrada and was shocked how quickly it changed direction compared to the tigèr so sadly not going to buy one.

Did the width bother you?

I bought a brand new tiger 900 in 2022, i traded it in last march [2023] for the old version 800....apart from the headlight and clocks, i hated the 900...each to their own.

Curious what about the 800 you like better than the 900.

@@jammyj1211I’m can’t speak for him but as a guy who has owned several Triumph motorcycles, including the Tiger 900 GT as can guess. The typical triumph 3 cylinder engine is extremely smooth. In the Tiger 900 the use what’s calls a T-plane crank which mimics a V-twin and it’s very grunty and viby. I actually love my Tiger 900 but the character of the engine is totally different than the typical triple engine including the Tiger 800s.

So basically Triumph like to pull your pants down on all accessories like most other bike manufacturers 🤷🏻 #ripoffbritain

I have the Aragon - last model before the new one, weirdly it’s has less vibes than my previous GT pro - literally no vibes at all, thought of waiting for new one but decided to go for Aragon. Such good bikes, but yeh a little more bhp would be welcome but I won’t lose sleep over it 😂

In the USA we receive few reviews on many motorcycles just POS Harleys and superbikes. Very few triumphs or the Honda NT1100 as it will not be imported to the US per honda and the honda dealers refusing to handle them. They say it will hurt the Superbike sales from the younger jerks or the sales of the expensive Goldwing. So the reviews of the NT1100 comes the EU. Few triumphs here also. Have a 2014 triumph Trophy a great bike but hard to find anyone willing to service it. 250 miles to triumph dealer and shop.

Can u pick riding modes while riding the bike ? or do you have to stop first

You can change them, but not into one that disables TC/ABS - you have to come to a stop to do that.

LOL at 5:56 is the garage I use because it is the only one near me in Newdigate that has premium unleaded (But really because it has a Greggs and a Greggs Filthy Sausage Roll is a thing of wonder on a ride)

Honestly, I ride/drive past that petrol station every time I'm out filming (it's 5 mins from my house) and have only just clocked it has a Greggs! Is it a new thing? I'm in deep trouble...
