The more I watch DIY videos on speakers and cabinets, the more I appreciate the level of skill you have and put into these pieces. I have to ask.. how did you model your magico design? Did you match it to the volume of the CNO Mk II or Mk III (now up on their site.) Did you have to change the XO because the Mk III shows the tweeter slightly behind the driver. Thx
@noamgellerdiy
@noamgellerdiy 5 ай бұрын
Thank you Michael 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 For the magico mini, I used every photo I could find on the net and photoshoped it into the CAD. Then I had the (almost) original size of the real deal down to the millimeter, as well the placement of drivers. Turns out the the magico mini has a capacity of 22Liter. The cno had 24Liter if I'm not mistaken... so it was easy to ignore the 2 Liters. So I went all on Magico and disregarded the cno design. Still sounds good 😉

@@asedillo1 Gloss finish is very difficult to attain under DIY conditions - go for a satin ( semi gloss or flat ) finish or a natural non-toxic oil & beeswax when using plywood - I also used "hammertone" metal paint with good results.... here's a pro-paint job kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHO5YYODjsuWadE

@@BogdanWeiss Use auto clear coat . You can get a pint from Ebay for $20. Coat it first with epoxy ( BSI Finish Cure ). Coat once with epoxy. Sand with 800 grit and 0 steel woold. One more coat of epoxy. Same sanding. Then auto clear coat. First coat gets wet sanded with 1000 grit and then 000 steel wool. Then spray auto clear again. Wet sand from 1000 to 2500 then buff. 2 compounds. Just watch videos how car finishers do it . It will look so good, you'd embarrass the big brands.

Thanks a lot! The original Magico retailed for 36k... I spent around 1500euro for mine and many many of hours of building them... (which I call therapy :) I suspect Magico spent the same amount of money (1500usd) for the raw drivers and crossover materials but then had to spent the real money 3-6k on the outsourced wooden cabinet. Luckily as a DIY we are free to do anything we want without the obvious cost of time\production and other pains.

Wauw, craftsmanship like this in a commercial venue, we're talking +20000 $ USD The only thing that's weird to me, if you can basically build anything and make it look as expensive as the B&W 800 Diamond, why did you go for a 2-way system :d ? I would definitely had made a 3way floorstander xD !
