For the dye you saw after cleaning the fretboard, doesn't mean it's not ebony. It's just that getting straight black ebony boards just isn't always possible these days, so they probably just used dye on it to make it more uniform. Epiphone does it, and many others do it. Gibson included.

Schecter guitars are one of the best (if not THE best) value in both the new and used guitar market. There are very few models I wouldn't own. As you pointed out, the lack of cases with almost every guitar they sell other than the USA models is a sore point for me. Even if they included a decent gig bag, it would make it so much more attractive.
@therealcharliebrown Жыл бұрын
I have 10 Schecters, mainly C-1s, but a couple V-1s as well. and I just paid extra to have the hardshell cases. I don't like gig bags, just because of the dirt, and how easy it is to damage the instrument. The hard cases are made well, so I felt that they are worth it to be able to store them. I mean, there marketing model is to get as many of their models in players' hands at all levels.
@Skippymizzle Жыл бұрын
Case is not an issue for me. Most people display their guitars. If you have a decent collection, you should have enough gig bags and cases to be able to transport the 6-8 you may take out of the house at one time. .. make any sense?
@DanielBobke Жыл бұрын
@@Skippymizzle Not the point. There are other reasonably priced brands that provide at least a gig bag with their guitars. Schecter could do it as well but it is the one ares where they cheap out and don't need to. It doesn't add that much cost from their perspective.
@michaelmetal71 Жыл бұрын
@@DanielBobke I totally agree with you about schecter should at least offer a case or a gig bag after a certain price point, my lefty schecter Nick Johnston HSS was $1025 after tax and if they added a decent gig bag along with it, that would’ve made it even better, I already had a case to put it in when I got it but I agree with you that’s not the point after a certain price that you’re paying you should at least get something to carry it in whether you’re going to use it or not, Kiesel gives you a hard gig bag with all their guitars regardless of price point

The early C-1 E/A's had quilted maple top, two F holes, pickup selector on the upper horn, and no access panels on the back other than the battery holder holder opposite of the pickup switch for what then was the Graphtech Ghost piezo system. They came with "Duncan Designed" pickups and no push-pulls to split. I installed the Seymour Duncan Jazz/JB combo with push-pulls in mine. Something of a PITA since everything had to go in-out through the pickup holes, but easier to reassemble when you tie a string to everything when pulling it apart. Edit: The very early C-1 E/A's had two 1/4" output jacks. One for the acoustic output and the other for the humbuckers. The newer ones with a TRS output jack make it easy to run a stereo rig, acoustic to one amp and humbuckers to the other. I run the acoustic to a Quilter Superblock US and the humbuckers to a Superblock UK, then into a stereo 4x12 cab. It makes a nice living room/bedroom rig. LOL

Schecter makes some really solid stuff. Especially when it comes to the lefty crowd. I see some people say they really enjoy their in house branded pickups. However, I've tried Pasadena and Apocalypse pickups and felt they were lacking. That Fishman piezo sounded awesome though. Great review.

You can use a Y cable, or you can get the fancy jack box that rockboard sells and have the y cable on your pedalboard, so you can run just one cable into one jack that you actually have to remove on a regular basis, rather than bothering with a split somewhere it would be annoying. Also those imperfections in the finish are fisheyes, caused by something getting in there while it's wet. Pain to deal with but also a pro finish department shouldn't have the contaminants floating around the air either.

Cool guitar! I think Schecter is my favourite brand, only have 2 so far but hopefully more to come. The dream one day is to get one of their USA custom shop models. I love the zebrawood top on this, even if it's just a veneer. Such a cool looking wood. I have a Tama snare drum that is made from solid zebrawood (snares are usually made from plies of wood, solid shells are rarer) and it sounds great. Also noticed that zebrawood is available as a fretboard wood on the Kiesel online configurator. No idea what it would feel like but looks cool as hell. I'm a little confused with the mention of using a splitter cable on this guitar. So you can use the switch to select piezo/humbuckers/both. If choosing both does that not mix both out to a mono signal? As far as I was aware most guitar amps have a mono input so it would need to be mixed down to a mono signal for the blend to work with any normal amp. If the blend puts the two signals out on a TRS cable that can be then accessed seperately with a splitter that would be handy but then the blend wouldn't work with a normal amp? Don't think this guitar is at the top of my list of Schecter models I want the most as I tend to play heavier styles but it would still be on the list. The humbuckers didn't sound as big as I was expecting but I guess that just the very clean tone used for the demo, I've heard the Pasadena pickup set in some high gain demos and they sound great. The Pasadena neck is in the new 'Sunset Extreme' model which seems to be quite a metal focussed shred machine so clearly those pickups can cope with the heavier stuff.

It's got a stereo jack so you can split the acoustic and electric tones, which is nice. The lack of case doesn't bother me. I own enough cases and gig bags as it is. I don't need another for storage.

I actually think that the inclusion of the Piezo pickup and electric guitars is one of the better design innovations since the electric guitar was conceived in the 1920s. There's at least one video I have seen on KZbin in which somebody is hoping that pickup is one of the things that will fade and disappear before long, but I am not inclined to agree. There has been at least one opportunity that I haven't seized (if not a few) to own a guitar that had one. I'll probably try to change that, eventually.

9:50 a ROLAND JC amplifier works great with a piezo set up.

Now lets start doing more classic era B.C. Rich. And Eagle, Seagull, or a Mockingbird would be awesome. There are some great Koa models as well.

I noticed you didn't speak to the frets, these guys usually have stainless steel for fret material, I don't know for sure about this model however.

I had the Cats eye….. didn’t like those humbuckers either…. Piezo was great!

Love Schecter guitars! Great specs and quality without an outrageous price tag of a USA guitar.

the control section is too cluttered for me. They need to put the magnetic pickup selector up top, like a Les Paul. Remove the piezo selector switch. And maybe a compound radius neck. Otherwise its a very versatile guitar.

The piezo sounded great in that axe!

I love my Schecter Blackjack ATX. Definitely a workhorse of a guitar.

I think the pricing was misspoken, you said 10049 then mentioned no case for that price point ?

I have a C1 Hellraiser hybrid FRS. Its dynamite! Schecter is probably the best bang for the buck out there!
