half true.. only fals thing is vikins(north pirates)/northern dont had these kind of drums they had smaller drums and they dont use them for rowing, your enemy(you have no enemys) could hear you from the far so you cant sneak attack or passed by, vikings used smaller drums not so big bc they dont had the materials to build big drums and only used it on special days for celebrating use the drums for rowing is original from africans and from carribian seamans/pirates

9:25 Wow you caught that. Not a lot of people notice that the drum beats are indicating row speed. That is why in battle you hear fast beats because they are trying to move the boat faster.

the drums are so they row at the same time and same speed, if you don't row at the same time the ship is not going anywhere or it's going to move very slowly so keeping proper rhythm is very important, as well as if the rowers on one side of the ship row slightly faster than the rowers on the other side the ship will turn in that direction which is bad if you're trying to move forward

Yes it's a mature show because it's a seinen manga/anime (Targeted for young adult-fully adult audience). Yet a certain age group who are fans of the first season are whining a lot nowadays🤣🤣
