You can alleviate the cannon's cooldown a bit by waiting a bit before firing each shot. It won't let you shoot more shots, but it'll help you be more consistent.

A quick tip for you! Try firing the flak cannon less... like do not spam to shoot because if you shoot a little bit slow between 2 shots you can keep shooting with no reload .

You need to use the nightshark to pull the Anti cannon trailer around. Then they can't blow you up so easy

You can't use your own Nightshark though. It might be possible to call in the Pegasus Insurgent Pick-up and pull it, but I haven't tried.
