The owner's advice about letting it warm up is gold. Any pinhead should know that revving ANYTHING when it's cold can bend valves, scar dry pistons or sleeves, bend pushrods... And a plethora of other horrors. Nice Century, by the way... I wonder why no one calls them "Rollayotas"?

The number three mechanic for all of Firestone in the entire United States told me that basically everything you just said is a myth, atleast with any car of the last 2 decades.
@killermogle Жыл бұрын
@@aeriagloris4211 Besides the fact that the number three mechanic for all of Firestone in the entire United States relies on people breaking things in their car for a job, if the oil isn't at operating temperature, you'll get an alarming amount of metal shavings that stick to the magnetic drain plug which are basically your pistons being worn away. In addition, any mechanic at Firestone in the entire United States is either going to avoid telling you about the fact that your car is magically losing a handful of metal shavings each oil change and wait for something to explode, or they'll try and upcharge you for a blinker fluid change using that as an excuse.

I don't know in Germany we call them "Autoposer". I think it's an international thing as "poser" is obviously an English word.
@2012inca2 жыл бұрын
In cities like LA and Monaco it is normal to see super cars. People say cool car can I take a picture with your car, the people on the sidewalk even ask you to revv the engine of your car. In my country they think of you as a show off when you drive a supercar or they flat out ignore you. Lot of this comes from jealousy, as soon as they win the lottery they buy a supercar themselves and they are the ones revving the engine along city and beach boardwalks. My dad and I were on a super yacht and a woman who herself had a smaller yacht yet still expensive she started yelling at my father what a rich asshole he was and a show off. Funny thing was my father was bringing the super yacht to his owner, my father didnt own the super yacht himself.
@danield.73592 жыл бұрын
@@2012inca I'been to Monaco, Cannes, Tropez many times and yes, car posing is a thing there. Doesn't make it less ridiculous. You can experience this in any major city center during evening hours (Zurich for example). Owning a car means nothing. In my neighborhood even the room Maid of a nearby hotel was driving around in a Maserati. These things are meaningless from a wealth point of view. The only things of value are investment goods, machines etc... Anything with a return of investment. Envying a car is a concept I never understood. Revving them up and passing by the coffee shop I'm sitting in just annoys me. It may be fun the first 5 minutes, but after a while I guarantee you it just becomes annoying.
@2012inca2 жыл бұрын
@@danield.7359 Me too I have been there many times, also LA where you have them too. My friend had these kind of cars and were part of a car club with fast cars. You have people who love cars so much they buy one even they cant afford them. Revving a supercar is different when people ask you to revv your car because they love cars.That is differen then revving a car in a city at night where people dont like it. What I feel is not right that as soon as someone drives a Ferrari they are immediately a holes and showoffs, while you can also think that man is drivihg in a piece of art. There is a big difference driving a super car in Monaco, LA then in other cities, there people react more positively to people driving super cars. Some people love collecting stamps and other people like collecting super cars. These car fans even buy them when they cant afford them. From investment point of view it is not smart, but there are exceptions. Some super cars can be used as investment of which you know the price will go up. My friend can sell his super car a limited editon for 50.000 dollars more. You have to really be into cars to know which cars will go up in value. Lots of people will react negatively when you drive such a car, but the same people buy such cars when they inherit money or get money in other ways. So a lot stems from jealousy, people keying them, walking over them, doing skateboard trucks on them, throwing rocks, breaking the front window. That comes from jealousy and is quite pathetic honestly.

@Matthew Gray repeatedly free-revving the engine like that until the ECU cuts the spark is not good. It puts huge strain on rotating components, and also washes the cylinder walls with fuel which is detrimental to the protective oil barrier. The unburnt fuel the exits via the exhaust, degrading the sensors and catalytic convertors before exiting as flame.
