As someone who does ACTUAL Serious RP, so many of them are not serious RPers. They can claim to be serious RPers, yet they break character so often or apply a role that doesn't fit for the time period to their character, or as someone else mentioned have main character syndrome. The fun in roleplaying is being something you're not. Play as a homeless dude, a hunter with social anxiety, whatever. Just make it fun. I get those of us who do full on RP can be seen a cringe, but it's the crowd like these people that give the REAL serious roleplayers the bad name. Look at those overnight Airsoft/Gelsoft things or history reenactments, you get into full character for them - yet that's not often seen as cringe because 99% of those who are even semi-serious in it give it a good name, and I guess because you're actually getting out of the house and doing something fun that results in exercise. Just wish FiveM/RedM roleplayers in "serious" servers did the same.

The thing about the green pants triggered me to the point where I spent 15 minutes looking up examples of bright green clothes in the 1800s. Of course they had bright green dyes. People mostly wore earth tones back then, just like people mostly wear earth tones now, especially in my country. In Australia they wear bright colors more often, but yeah, it would be like going up to some random dude today and saying "Yo, why are you wearing bright green? That's not an accurate representation of our modern age."
