I watched just to find out about leader length. Been trolling the Duwamish for coho and doing quite well with the wickeds, however I just tied on the standard leader length right out of the package. Got to thinking that’s way too long. I’m going to try what you suggested 25-30”. Do you load up the hootchie with scent? If so what’s your go to scent?

I like shorter leaders, but if you have success with that longer leader, then stick with it. I use herring oil or bloody tuna gel for scent.

Absolutely you can it also depends on water clarity. I generally don't in clean tide water just run them with out flashers. But both work great.

smashed the pinks in Puget Sound last summer trolling the coho sized Wicked Lures. I now have about 10 or so in my tackle box, hoping to put them to use this summer on silvers and chinook.

Awesome, I love hearing your success. The silvers should inhale them as well.

What do you think of double hooks and a herring fillet?
@wickedluresllc10812 ай бұрын
I will run a double hook set up at times. If you want to cut a small strip and put on the lure that's fine too but I only use herring oil.

I always add a second hook. Or change out line and rig with 2 hooks. Most places I fish (salt and river) allow for two hooks. Bloody tuna gel in the hoochie when scent is allowed, or i put the scent on my flasher since it's easier to clean off than on the hoochie

You dont add any bait or scent?
@wickedluresllc10814 ай бұрын
I just scent them bloody tuna or anchovies gel. You can put a small triangle piece of herring on the back hook.
