I absolutely agree with Floyd being on the top spot! While I am upset he didn’t try to visit Branch during his childhood, it was still super sweet that he was the only one out of all of Branch’s brothers to give him a proper goodbye and gifted him his vest to remember him by. I’m also happy that Poppy is a supportive, caring and loving girlfriend toward Branch and insisted on coming with him when he briefly abandoned his brothers to rescue Floyd himself.

I've always considered Veneer as a gray character when it comes to Band Together. Whilst his actions and mistreatment of Crimp are inexcusable, the fact that he was willing to unload their undoings and accept defeat made me appreciate him as a character. It made him multilayered and I always appreciate antagonists that have a sense of morality. It's evident throughout the movie that Velvet is mentally abusive and tends to act toxic towards him. So, I'm not surprised that he'd betray her in the end. Plus, fame and fortune cause a lot of people to develop massive egos, and there's nothing wrong with people liking expensive things. The issue is that a lot of it came from Floyd's essence rather than their own talent. Which is why I understand his placement on this list.

Something else that I saw someone else point out is that Barb, who did something similar to what Velvet and Veneer are doing but to a much greater extent, got off scot free while both were arrested. Velvet getting arrested? Sure. Veneer? Ehh... Sure they were going to end up killing Floyd but Veneer didn't want that and Barb, who was literally okay with taking away everyone's free will, gets no punishment... It's weird!

The act of the draining itself is torture as it causes physical pain. And as you said, there's Veneer's reactions to take into account.

I basically grew up with the whole franchise. The first movie came out when I was 9, and I was catastrophically obsessed with it, singing the songs, and buying the toys and even got the DVD for my 10th birthday. And the second movie came out when I was 13, and I liked it but not as good as the first one. Now that the third movie is out, and I am 16 almost 17, and I think it’s even better than the last two they made, which is why you don’t listen to critics. Time flies fast.

Personally I’m a Vanner apologist bc Something that drives me nuts as some people forget that the Bergens were uhhh offing trolls for a really long time velvet and veneer came really close to offing Floyd but they didn’t so they didn’t technically off anyone so I wouldn’t consider them irredeemable if the Bergens can get a redemption, I believe in redemption for the them too

Took my 6 year old daughter to see this flick - we hadn’t seen the previous Troll movies. Full disclosure- we were blown away! Have been listening to the soundtrack on repeat, particularly Velvet & Vaneer’s track. Which might - no hyperbole- be the best villain song from any kids movie in history. Highly recommend seeing this flick - we’re going back a second time!!

For me the only flaw in this movie is that WE DIDNT GET THAT DAMN PROPOSAL bc they made the realationship 1 month old. What makes branch my favorite charecter is the fact that because hes been through so much trauma he can understand things that others cant. Take viva for example pops didnt quite understand why viva wouldnt join her when she proved the bergens were good BUT BRANCH DID he even explained to viva that he used to be JUST LIKE HER( even though it didnt work) this proves that branch can understand things that others cant BECAUSE hes been through so much. Im also a SUCKER for charecter development which is why i love branch so much

The thing is, unlike Velvet and to a far lesser extent, Veneer, Barb had no actual intent to cause harm. She simply wanted to eliminate any other genre of music outside rock, particularly pop. She never even wanted to harm Poppy or the other pop trolls. She simply turned the non-rock trolls into rock zombies, that’s all. Velvet and Veneer(more so, the former), on the other hand, set out to acquire talent by capturing trolls and leaching them of their talents, which could kill those trolls in the process. They gained their abilities and superstar statuses by draining Floyd and tried to do the same 3 of his brothers. Besides, they, especially Velvet, abused the shit out of their assistant, Crimp. Therefore, they deserved arrest more than her.

I like to think Floyd did come back as promised, except he was just a little late like John Dory was. Coming back just to find the Troll Tree vacant and desolate had to have been heart-shattering for him. I mean, look at Floyd's ears: they're shaped similarly to Branch's. Floyd had to have been in mourning long enough for them to turn out like that. So yeah, I'm certain he didn't know Branch was still alive until they reunited.

I love this analysis:D (probably bc im hyperfixating xD). But i have a feelingn that Velvet had some sort of care for Veneer, i mean if she didn’t care she’d just get all the fame for herself. So i think in her eyes changing Veneer and making him harm Floyd as well as manipulating him to do what she says was her way of “providing him good” (like yk it was bad but in her opinion she was doing sth good). That’s probably why she says “it’s like I don’t even know who you are” because she expected him to be grateful for her “help”

I don’t think she cared for Veneer one bit. She only kept him around 1) for the sake of her image(she couldn’t accept that he wasn’t as smart or as ambitious as her), or 2) because, since he’s her brother and isn’t very bright, she believes he’s easy to control and manipulate and will put up with her crap. Sure, she didn’t treat him as badly as she did Crimp, but she never once felt ashamed, let alone remorseful or guilty, for the way she treated her brother. Doesn’t sound like someone with any love for their sibling.
