I think IN has said before that if he wasn't able to debut with skz, he would've likely been the leader of another group and he's glad that didn't happen cause he thinks he'd probably be a mean leader hahaha - he used to not let kids in the same year level as him call him without honorifics cause they were technically still younger 🤣

Bang Chan was trained with Twice and Got7 (and I think Day6?) and the two groups debuted in 2015 and 2014. Jihyo in Twice is the middle kid (leader asw cos of her 10 yr training period) and BamBam in Got7 is maknae, and BOTH of them are the same age as Chan. So as you can tell, he was training as one of the maknaes with a bunch of older siblings. It‘s purely cos Chan‘s debut was ‘delayed’ and because he had so much experience that he turned out to be the oldest and leader. Even Jihyo when debuting was 19 in Korean age so she wasn’t as ‘late’, but by 2018, Chan was 22 in Korean age. It sounds silly, but considering that the next JYP group that debuted a year later had the oldest as a 00’ liner, and even 99’ liners had already debuted in 3rd gen, Chan’s slight panic and urge to debut was understandable on the survival show.
