20:30, if someone said they stopped stanning bts because a member is in the army, they would be cooked on Twitter 😂 that isn’t a good excuse because it’s like you were just a “stan” because of their visual or because they were active on social media and active as a group. I’ve seen plenty of kpop Stan’s wait for their favs & keep stanning them even though they are in the military, as an exol I never unstanned exo just because they were in the military.i kept listening to their music and watching their content

20:29 20:43 nah, youre misunderstanding that part. It's not an army irk but basically their korean kpop fan mentality kicking in. Kfans detest that kind of... declaration. Switching temporarily bcos your fave is in the military is a no-no. Most ifans are not aware of it but the majority of kfans are not multis. Some of them might be solos, notorious shippers and whitewashing apologists (3x🚩) but one thing they won't do is not be loyal to their current fave lol Must fcking sucks to be an army lol being constantly subjected to such misapprehension.

Honestly some Korean fans creep me out a bit sometimes 'how can you be a fan girl if you're just happy they're alive? you should be expecting more' wdym by that? 💀

Stress. Korean has a very different work culture. Recently they were talking about the possibility of - I believe - a 69 hour week for "emergencies" - because a limit at 52 hours is not enough. New laws recently make 21,5 hour work days possible. This stress needs to be balanced which makes life worth living. in this case Idol music. (SK also has a high s* rate). With high costs for everything we see the economy of late capitalism. It's not pretty.

@@ruthfischer7615 It's might be stress yet that's not all. It's the way the industry and society turns idols into literal deities to be idolised and fans feel like they are entitled to their idols lives. Like the whole 'you can't date anyone because your body belongs to your fans' thing or the way fans have so much power they can cancel someone overnight over the minorest things.

@@fantasylovemagic Can unfortunately happen to anyone famous. Last summer Yuzuru Hanyu - a very famous in Asia Japanese figure skater - anounced that he has married the love of his life. A month (?) later he announced his divorce: Media and obsessive fans had made his "civilian" wife's and her familie's life hell. For her mental health they decided to divorce. Personally I don't like how "fans" are attacking Korean media & labels over what is happening in Gaza. I mean what has that to do with each other? And yeah I have seen that canceling: "I have seen you at that club" with other Idols - cancel you. Antis... (sigh) But this is not what these fans are doing. They seem to stand behind their artist - the very outrage at the idea to just stand apart a little of their artist got such a strong reaction. But than they also look more mature than those outraged "fans".
@fantasylovemagic9 ай бұрын
@@ruthfischer7615 I'm not saying otherwise? I was just talking about Korean Kpop fan behaviour here 😂 Edit : But to answer you, I know about Yuzuru. This whole idolisation phenomenon is particularly strong in Asia. Same thing happened to Chinese actors like Zhang Zhe Han who was cancelled over made up facts or Xiao Zhan with the 227 incident. Also when did we start talking about Gaza ? Did I miss something ? You seem a bit all over the place with your replies.

SK culture in general is so disconcerting. If you look at other community outside of the idol fan spectrum, ugh... theyre pretty weird as well... Like, for example, gamers.
