What do you think of Tron: Legacy? Does the masterful execution make up for its mediocre story? Be sure to stick around long enough to catch the next video in my Tron series : Tron: Legacy - Designing the Grid

TRON I could believe happened in a computer. The sequel just seemed too organic. The characters eating, a rocky terrain, light cycles not making 90 degree turns, etc. But, I'm still very disappointed that a sequel is not currently in the works. I could believe the first one was in a computer. Legacy, not so much.

What is not known about this film or Kosinski’s other alleged film is that he did not make an unfinished graphic novel of Oblivion. He did not write the screenplay or story boards for either film. He mearly signed his name to both and is a fraud and a plagiarist. I don’t care if you believe me or not. This will come out as well as an entire strike of plagiarisms. Wait and see... Best, R. C. Fantastic analysis of a fantastic film. There is actually ONE other reference to Wendy Carlos' music for the original Tron, when Sam approaches the Tron arcade game at Flynn's, you can briefly hear an 8-bit rendition of free track TRON Scherzo! Another detail you missed about The Black Hole: Not only did Joseph Kosinski wanted to do a remake, but the original Black Hole has a connection to TRON. Steven Lisberger, the director of the original film, had to prove to Disney that he would be able to achieve the glowing line effects and that he was able to be a director, so he had to shoot a test film. This test film actually recycled a lot of props from The Black Hole (which had finished filming at the time that Lisberger was pitching TRON to Disney). So, the references in T:L to The Black Hole wasn't just a hint at what Kosinski wanted to do, but it was a call back to the history of TRON itself.

Excellent trivia, dude. Looking forward too the next Tron videos. It was due to Legacy that I become an ardent viewer of Kosinski. His production design and attention to symmetry are all elements that should be praised. Though the worst of aspect from his works, is that his narratives are too ambitious for their own good (see Oblivion). Though I feel that quirk has gradually improved with last year's Only The Brave. A severely underrated biographical drama that manages to integrate way more artistry and benevolence, than anything Peter Berg's chocked out in the past few years.
@JoeAllenD6 жыл бұрын
Really? I didn't get a chance to see Only the Brave; my local theatres had it for maybe a week. Glad Kosinski could do well with a simpler story. Shame that Oblivion was so bloated. If you cut out the first 30min, putting it around the 90min mark, it's not too bad. Cuts out a lot of the repeated exposition and unnecessary flashbacks.

You now I always wondered what if clue had his army escaped from the grid, the laser will over load and what about the building when a massive airship is generated inside of it
@KizaruB4 жыл бұрын
That’s one of the moments the film broke my suspension of disbelief. I didn’t like the idea of Clu leaving the system. It went against his entire directive. His directive was to make the Grid perfect, not to escape. That entire concept breaks the idea of conservation of mass and the fundamental physics of the Tron world. Quorra was a rare case because she has a genetic structure not too different from a human’s. However, there isn’t nearly enough matter inside the laser to create Clu’s entire army. Also, the machines of the Grid don’t abide by Newtonian physics and elementary atomic rules. They’re designed to be run through code since that behaves differently from the real world. They would never translate to the real world.
@alexforce94 жыл бұрын
@@KizaruB Wasnt the idea that Clu wanted to go out and then bring his armies? If he is a copy of Flin its reasonable to assume he have DNA too .And his purpose is to create the perfect system. Ans since the Tron world is only part of the real world, he want to "Fix" the whole system, not only the Tron part.

I encourage everyone that, on your next rewatch, try to see the movie as the relationship between Flynn and Clu, and the fact that Clu is like a son to him, too, the idealized version of what he thought his son would be, and the saving at the end is him embracing that that version of his kid is only in his head, and thus saving the real one. I've of course messed up the metaphor, but just try to see that angle in it, I find it quite heartwarming and a powerful assumption of responsibility from a demanding father.

Fellow fans, can any of you help me figure out: What is the exact meaning of the numbers on the computer screen in the scene where Sam enters the grid? [search "Tron Legacy Computer Scene"] It says "20 : 11 : 20 : 16 : 22 : 16 : 34" at some point. The end "16 : 34" appear to clearly move at the rate of seconds : milliseconds respectively. The beginning "20 : 11" could be the year as the film was released in Nov 2010 I believe. But then none of 20, 16, 22 can be months... a possible explanation would be year (20)20: Month 11: Day 20: Hour 16: Minute 22: Second 16: Millisecond 34, but Sam's age difference (27 at dinner, 7ish at bedtime, and 1989 Flynn disappearance) implies the storyline should take place near 2009. Appreciate the input!

Allen Bradley, is also a massive product and manufacturer in the area of a few electronics things, "just a few"... Ranging from circuit breakers, to electric motors to controllers, to chip manufacturing, wiring, PCB software and design, a odd range of equipment for residential to heavy industrial and commercial use, special one off's machines, pick and place SMT robots, and so much more..... only being rivaled by Kumatsu, Toyota, Hitachi, etc... Allen Bradley corps is one of the leading in break through technology of the world. That is in case somebody didn't know that and how that opens up how powerful Allen Bradley position in the movie as an innovator, inventor, with full ability of R&D, while never fearing the risks to try something new when a new idea had never been done before and was only a theory. Allen Bradley also has the patience to hold back and only use the bare minimum to get the job done as a back up measure is always behind door number 2, 3, 4, 5, ....1000 etc... Why show your hand out of the gate and squash the whole playing field? The competitive nature to not squash the opposing side completely, allows them to keep their own desire in the game, so Allen Bradley will always have somebody to play the game with, as they themselves do their best to be innovative, (They try). It is a never ending, state of perpetual war or never ending game(s). Sure, Allen Bradley could just squash them all in one move, but then what would he do? There is a fear of getting bored to death, literally. There is a balance that gets created by Allen Bradley that is stimulated by him allowing him to inspire them to find their own desire to keep trying to be innovative to compete, the realist nature of man, to win. These others inspire him, in theory, and becomes a never ending game and somehow, in all the chaos, there is balance.... With balance, it becomes self sustaining of its own existence as a system or economy of sorts... Allen Bradley is the PCB (printed circuit board) and the Flynn's at each stage are the chip set or processors. There is balance in that one can not be or work with out the other, they need each other in the end game to exist. Allen Bradley is holding or harnessing the power for the processor at multiple I/O's, and the Flynn's are the chip set/processors. Welp, this was fun, I likely and completely appear to be off my rocker like a nutcase now.. I still enjoyed the theorizing.. Shall I continue with my nutcasery?
