Tron: Legacy is an amazing film I still think about, a movie that influenced me a lot as a kid, one that affected me so much but never got a sequel. So, it's time to talk about it, analyze it, and yep.. it's definitely CINEMA. Change my mind.

Exactlllyyyy. This is one of the best movies that has an amazing and stunning visual cinematography. And it has amazing soundtrack,at least that's what I think, it has high level action, and an amazing story. A story where a guy, who turns out to be the son of the creater of a system, gets trapped and see this other world. WHY no one talks about this movie. It is indeed underrated.

Ever notice how the sun isn't visible until the end of the film? In the real world scenes, it's nearly always night and the only shot taking place during the day is still muted and overcast. We dont see the sun in Tron Legacy until the characters have learned the importance of the mundane, or how to appreciate what's always been there. That scene with Sam describing the sun hits even harder because up to that point in the film, we haven't even seen it. Quorra experiences the sun for the first time in the brightest, warmest and most illuminated scene in the movie.

In a way, the fact that the movie isn’t perfect proves one of the core messages of the movie! It’s imperfect, but in imperfection lies perfection, and beauty. It’s a perfect analogy for mankind, and nature, and I don’t think the people making it truly understood just how accurate that message was.. and is. Even the timing of it’s release date kinda proves that, and i honestly think, that in its own right, Tron Legacy is a masterpiece.

Oh so that's why they were scrapped after plans were made. Makes sense but at the same time doesn't. Yeah, Tomorrowland failed but that's 'cus nobody wanted Tomorrowland. Another Tron movie is a completely different story, the first one was groundbreaking and Legacy is a beloved film that just so happened to be forgotten somehow. Tron has been proven to be successful so there's no point in scrapping that one.

Tron: Legacy is a special movie to me. My dad and I went to the cinema back in the day to watch it, and we ended up loving it. It became the kind of flick we would go back to again and again. We would even listen to the soundtrack album from time to time. In a sense, it was pretty much our movie, just like The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Star Wars franchise; we would always watch those together. It’s been a bit hard to rewatch Tron: Legacy since my dad passed away, in 2018. It’s tough not to remember him, by my side, talking about how amazing the Daft Punk score is and how he’d always know I was smiling whenever Sam entered his dad’s secret office at the arcade to the muffled sound of Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)”, one of our favorite songs. Everything you’ve highlighted about Legacy is precisely what made us love this movie so much. I’m genuinely happy people are seeing more of the substance that the film has. Thank you for making this video, man. It’s truly special. 💙

Dude, I just happened to stumble across this vid....and I can not tell you how happy I am that I did. I legit cried while watching this. I feel so seen by this vid. You don't understand how much I love TRON and how much this franchise means to me. (To give some idea, I was ranked 17th globally on PS3 for the multiplayer of TRON: Evolution and a Disney representative once sent me a rare, never before released to the public, light-up TRON: Legacy hoodie by Adidas) I ESPECIALLY love TRON: Legacy...and I've felt so alone in terms of my thoughts and feelings on this film, constantly defending it online against people who sneered at it, claiming that the only good things about it were the visuals or Daft Punk's score...critics and "Fans" (especially older generations who only enjoy the original film and games) who felt the story was lacking. You so eloquently described in perfect detail just why this movie is truly amazing and is worthy of being treated as such. All of my thoughts and feelings towards this film feel vindicated by your vid. Haters can get derezzed. Thank you so much for making this. As goofy and plodding as the original is, it was and still is, completely unique. I don't know what they were smoking when they wrote it, but hot damn... incredible. It inspired me as a kid to end up as a programmer. To think differently about the world around me because what if... And then Tron Legacy. Already much older, in my career. That movie hits hard. And it hits in all the right places. To the point where you can forgive the deaged Flynn face (I believe that was the first attempt at something like that). The balls to ask Daft Punk to not just write music for the film, but to actually SCORE the whole thing... that's impressive alone. And then Liseberger... that man has an incredible talent for visuals in film. To take the grid and update it so that it still looked ridiculously cool and computery by our standards was no simple task, but they nailed it. And the core story about humanity... beautiful. Disney needs to just grow a pair and let this continue. These two movies are going to stand the test of time and be around, talked about, watched, long after people have stopped caring about live-action Beauty and the Beast. And with all of that they still managed to have some of the most awesome action sequences ever.

Funny thing is, that’s EXACTLY how my dad showed it to me and my brother. The one scene that stuck out to me my first watch was the scene with Sam on the motorcycle with “Son of Flynn” playing in the background. That blew my 10 year old mind as a kid, and to this day I still love it so much.

I actually never saw Tron's original movie or the Legacy movie I just watched the Tron Uprising series once and I was caught in its magic never before I thought that Neon Lights everywhere could look so fucking beautiful and never before had I experienced before what it is like to decide what is real and what is fake since Tron takes place in a digital world recent anime Vivy Fluorite Eye's Song reminded me of that pain again of watching a show about digital creatures being killed off even though they too had the right to live in short I just like the message of Tron along with the style of it

I feel that in creating CLU, Flynn unintentionally siphoned off aspects of his personality into his digital doppelgänger. While CLU got a sense of purpose and a drive, he didn’t receive the ability to change the parameters of his programming, the sense of wonder. With someone to take on responsibility full time Flynn is more relaxed, admiring the ghosts in the machine that are the ISOs without considering how CLU will perceive them. Flynn ends up exiled from both his own world and the city he created, and the two aspects of Kevin Flynn develop separately until they can no longer to be reconciled. The expanded universe material around this film is amazing. The Tron Betrayal graphic novel depicts more of what happened up to the events in the flashbacks, the Evolution game provides key backstory for Quorra and the Uprising series shows the ordinary lives of Programs.

I rewatch Tron Legacy every couple of years. It’s just so awesome - cinematography, story, characters, special effects, cinematography, visual style, cinematography, MUSIC. It’s addictive, I can’t stop watching it. I don’t get why Disney can’t make a sequel for so many years.

As someone who watched the original TRON in theaters as a little kid, I was thrilled when LEGACY was announced. I was blown away by the sequel and shocked at not only how good it was, but also how it was so much better than it needed to be. It's great that younger generations are finding something special in it as well. Fantastic video. Cheers!

I agree, but at the same time I feel like Disney simply can’t just make a straight-up Legacy 2. It’ll have been over a decade since Legacy, and that time can’t go ignored. They’ll probably explore a new story with whatever Tron 3 turns out to be.

I agree that Tron is underrated, but I also feel you on struggling with work/life balance. I'm also trying to develop a career in filmmaking, but I'm also balancing a fulltime job on top of that so it makes it hard for me to allow myself to spend time with friends and family when I constantly feel like I gotta use all my free time for work.
