Had to ride 2 of those locomotives today to dump some ballast on the mainline.

That's awesome, I'd love to get back out there someday. The day we were there the train didn't leave town due to staffing issues. Thankfully we didn't leave completely empty handed!

@@SouthShoreTrain us track guys at the TRC have only 5 guys to maintain 31 miles of mainline, 20 miles of yard track plus track in Boron, Dagget, and San Diego. Talk about understaffed lol

@@michaelball760 I'm a sole-less ginger that gets burned by the moon, I don't even want to begin thinking about track work in the desert.

@@SouthShoreTrain lol been doing it 16 years and it still gets to me in the summertime out here. 120 degrees with no shade isnt very fun, we pray winter comes soon.
